Duties
Major duties include but are not limited to:
Apply administrative policies, maintain various systems, coordinate travel, and other staff administrative requirements involving other VISN 23 and VHA program offices.
Ensure policies are followed and advise top department managers of program and policy updates.
Compose correspondence and reports.
Update and maintain student data and program information.
Make recommendations to improve coordination, planning, administration, and management.
Represent NWI Primary & Specialty Medicine Department at meetings attended by representatives of various medical and non-medical services.
Provide assistance maintaining affiliation agreements with approved educational programs to ensure they remain viable and current.
Assist in carrying out the operational and administrative duties pertinent to the effective and efficient operation of the service line.
Plan and set milestones to determine consistency with annual and long-range objectives.
Analyze budget and contracting requirements for multi-year allocations.
Formulate time-phased operational and implementation support plans for internal objectives.
Review regulations, policy guidance and program directives.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Friday, tour negotiable between 7am
6pm (May be further discussed during interviews)

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/26/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required.
Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate controlled office. Position may require occasional travel.
