Duties
The Program Support Assistant (PSA) will be responsible for collecting, compiling, organizing, and tracking statistical information in support of program operations, and the achievement of program goals and objectives. He/she coordinates the periodic review of the policy and procedure manual based on section guidelines. The incumbent coordinates the activities of the Performance Improvement Coordinator. This includes workload, related reports, and quality monitors and indicators. The incumbent manages the part-time physicians' programs for the Service.
The incumbent prepares and uses independent judgment to generate a variety of clinical and administrative correspondence and reports. The incumbent compiles information from a variety of sources in response to requests for information, reports, etc. The incumbent assures accuracy in format, grammar, spelling and distribution of final documents. The incumbent will perform project assignments as directed by the Section Manager, Administrative Officer, Section Chief or Service Line Chief.Responsible for directly interfacing with referred Veterans to help enroll into Cardiology services and implement technology services such as telehealth, Annie and other technologies. This includes managing orders for such services, describing telehealth cardiology services to veterans, doing test calls and teaching Veterans how to best use the service. This also includes troubleshooting with Veterans on problems as they arise and facilitating help desk support. This may also include ordering supplies for the program and assisting with contracts
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/01/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
