Duties
Major Duties:
Handle administrative requests and queries for information and resolve or assist in resolving a variety of complaints.
Timekeeper for the Home Base Primary Care Department.
Collects, compiles, and/or tracks statistical information in support of prop-am operations and accurately, collects, enters, and manages data including patient and program data.
The incumbent will attain and maintain computer skills on a variety of software programs, e.g., Microsoft Office to include spreadsheet, file management, VISTA program, GIS mapping, CPRS Program, VSSC, and communication tools such as MS Outlook
Utilizes a variety of software programs and communication tools to input and retrieve data as required.
Offers performance improvement advice to program staff.
tracks and trends issues elated to the program, utilizes statistical data compile monthly reports as requested for all programs staff.
Assists with keeping program staff apprised of patient census and any changes/problems that may be encountered.
Serve as a point of contact for Veterans and their families. AVAHCS staff, VISN 7 staff, community agencies, and various others who contact the HBPC offices.
Participates in performance improvement activities related to the program quality improvement process.
Screens all calls manner and prioritized based on urgency. Calls that can be handled independently are processed and Veteran/Caregiver concerns are addressed in a timely manner. Calls that are clinical in nature are properly discharged to the appropriate HBPC staff members to ensure prompt follow up.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/03/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: The incumbent will serve as a Program Support Assistant to the HBPC Program Director and Medical Director. Duties are varied, non-routine, and consist of handling data and coordination for the programs. The incumbent will serve as a point of contact for Veterans and their families, AV AHCS staff, VISN 7 staff, community agencies, and various others who contact the HBPC offices. He/she will also assist with any future proposals/projects that are implemented and will be responsible for participation in special events connected with the HBPC program. Physical Requirements: The work will involve standing, walking, kneeling, bending, squatting, lifting and carrying of light items 30% or more of the time. The work is typically performed in an office environment. The work involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions.
