Job Summary:

Requires a working knowledge of Boys & Girls Club programs and procedures. The individual supervises volunteers, seasonal and part-time employees at all club sites as assigned.

Must have flexible hours to be able to work on weekends and afternoons as assigned. Assists Vice President of Operations in developing organizational goals, attaining and allocating resources, and establishing policies, rules and regulation. Other responsibilities include implementing city wide special events, supervising, training and developing staff, marketing, general office administration duties, purchasing, and participant recruitment.

Essential Job Functions:

a. Assist, coordinate/implement programs daily in the 5 core areas for youth/teens including technology and Teen Court.

b. Contributes to the creation of the overall club's climate for youth development.

c. Plan & coordinate programs and activities consistent with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Edinburg Rio Grande Valley's mission, core values and vision statements.

d. Serve as a school liaison for during and after school programs and leads on community recruitment efforts of new members.

e. Develop, manage and maintain a strong relationship with school administration (Principals, teachers, PTOs) to ensure ongoing partnerships between Club and School.

f. Prepare, track and monitors assigned payroll activities and/or program components for the purpose of ensuring effective department functioning, coordinating activities and ensuring compliance with established financial, legal, grant and/or administrative requirements.

g. Assist in preparing yearly budget, periodic reports, work programs, grants and other related administrative tasks.

h. Markets programs to the members and community by maintaining a high profile in the community through publicity and quality programming and creating opportunities to publicize club events and programs.

i. Implement, officiate, monitor and clean-up facilities and supervise youth programs.

j. Supervise and secures facilities and equipment as assigned.

k. Recruit, hire, train and manage staff and volunteers including their formal evaluations & assessing their needs for ongoing professional development.

l. Develop and implement systems for family involvement/engagement.

m. Solicit sponsors for programs and special events.

n. Maintain safety for public and staff.

o. Prepare youth/teens for success - contribute to identifying and implementing strategies for quality program improvements.

p. Develop local programs

q. Coordinate programs and special events with/for community agencies.

r. Active participation in The Professional Association and BGCA Academy

s. Prepare and give community presentations.

t. Prepare and submit reports regarding programs and grants as required/assigned.

u. Prepare program reports, compile data and measure program success utilizing outcome tools by tracking club members for program assessment/evaluation for reporting to board and funders.

v. Establish program goals and objectives.

w. Assist with grant writing and gather information for BGCA mini-grants.

x. Perform other appropriate duties as required.

Conditions of Employment:

b. Applicant must take and pass a pre-employment drug test administered by the City of Edinburg at the City's expense.

c. Must have a current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety with a satisfactory driving record.

d. Must have or obtain a Class B driver's license with passenger endorsement within 3 months of employment.

e. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Required Education:

High School Diploma

Education Preference:

Bachelor Degree in Youth Development, Social services or related field preferred

Required Work Experience:

Two (2) years' experience in youth development management

Experience Preference:

Three (3) years of experience in youth development management

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

a. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

b. Must be able to understand, read and follow written and oral directions/instructions.

c. Must be in good physical condition. Must have the ability to supervise/coordinate programs.

d. Must have good writing skills, strong leadership qualities, the ability to coordinate, inspire and motivate others and the ability to work effectively without direct supervision.

e. Must have good public relations ability. Sensitive to the needs of youth/teens.
