The University of New Mexico's Project ECHO has an exciting opportunity for a Program Specialist to join our New Mexico Programs Team!

The Specialist will play an integral role in the development and implementation of community-informed programming to support New Mexican providers and improve access to best practice care for underserved populations worldwide.

As a successful Program Specialist, you will play an active role in working directly with the New Mexico team members to maintain the quality and effectiveness of ECHO Initiatives. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing all second-tier day-to-day operations of current or developing ECHO programs.

  • Maintaining organization of all document storage sites (e.g., Box, P:drive).

  • Coordinating logistics and administrative components of up to eight ECHO sessions per week and facilitating information flow between the ECHO hub, ECHO internal team (JAO, IT Digital Librarian), and ECHO participants.

  • Monitoring and evaluating the quality of outputs from ECHO program goals, ensuring they align with objectives and contribute to continuous improvement.

  • Designing, refining, and ensuring branding on outreach activities, marketing strategies, communication materials, and tools for a variety of ECHO programs and special projects. Coordinating communication and marketing with stakeholders, using approved ECHO guidelines.

  • Monitoring, evaluating, and communicating the impact of assigned ECHO programs, contributing to the preparation of special ECHO program reports and summaries to track progress and outcomes.

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for daily programmatic issues with both external and internal stakeholders, addressing inquiries and facilitating communication as required.

  • Supervising the direct work of personnel assigned, including coaching and performance management, training; building trust, common purpose, shared consciousness via on-boarding.

We work with partners all over the world and work hours outside of normal business hours may be required. We are fortunate to have access to advanced technology, which will require some teleworking.

Conditions of Employment

  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.

  • If located at the UNM Children's Campus, successful candidate must pass a comprehensive post-offer, pre-employment criminal and New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD) fingerprint background check, and a continued successful status will be verified by periodic future background checks.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in complex scheduling and program implementation

  • Understanding of medical accreditation and certification requirements, preferably Joint Accreditation

  • Knowledge and experience in accounting, purchasing, event planning and recruitment

  • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities

  • Knowledge of communication principles, media, and marketing techniques

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are preferred, as well as the ability to multi-task, plan, prioritize, and meet deadlines

  • Demonstrated skills in multitasking, preparing reports, problem-solving, and analyzing program, university, and/or other program requirements

  • Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn UNM institutional systems and procedures

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, REDcap, Box, Salesforce, and Slack

  • Ability to lead and manage other staff members and/or student employee
