Position: Program Specialist Montgomery County

Department: Developmental Disabilities Program

Availability of Position: Immediately

Schedule: Full time, hours vary, on-call responsibilities

Reporting Relationship: Program Director for Montgomery County

Salary and Grade: $40,000.06 annually; 10 Exempt

Responsibilities

This position is a case management position (exempt) with responsibilities for facilitating the activities of planning teams for adults with Intellectual Disabilities/Autism in residential settings in Montgomery County and to monitor homes for licensing requirements and individuals' needs. Specific responsibilities include coordinating medical care, providing staff training, writing and reviewing support plans and progress notes, and maintaining individuals' files.

Additionally, this position will assist with home management in the absence of a supervisor and participate in various department and county initiatives. This position requires flexibility in scheduling to encompass some evenings and weekends as necessary to provide appropriate oversight of the program and to ensure emergency response is available to meet health and safety needs.

Qualifications

Minimum requirement of a BA/BS in a Human Services field, two years experience working with individuals with Developmental Disabilities, demonstrated writing skills, driver's license required and supervisory skills a plus. Associates degree and a minimum of four years of experience may be accepted for an otherwise exceptional candidate. It is essential to support The Salvation Army by having an appreciation and understanding of The Salvation Army mission.
