The Florida College System consists of the 28 public state and community colleges which provide access to high-quality, affordable academic and career educational programs that maximize student learning and success, develop a globally competitive workforce, and respond rapidly to state and community needs.Job DescriptionThe Program Specialist IV position supports the Director of Research and Analytics in the organization of data related to Florida's 28 colleges. This includes preparing data for use by division and Department of Education staff, college administrators, policymakers, reporters and other key stakeholders with descriptive data and clear communication. This position requires extensive use of computer software for data organization and reporting, as well as the ability to conduct technical reviews of spreadsheets, documents and presentations for technical accuracy. Specifically, this position:Duties and Responsibilities(Note: The omission of specific job duties does not preclude management from assigning specific duties not listed herein if such duties are a logical assignment to the position.)The Florida Department of Education (FDOE) has an open position that is responsible for executing the following functions: * Assists the Associate Vice Chancellor in the production and annual updating of evaluation reports, program reviews and research reports, including, but not limited to data snapshots, research briefs and reports using software including Excel and Word. * Assists in the accountability process, including data collection. * Reviews external education reports for information on current topics of interest. * Coordinates and helps with project development including strategic imperative projects. * Assists in the data request process through the PK-20 Education Reporting and Accessibility department and organizes the storage and tracking of fulfilled requests. * Performs other specifically assigned duties and special projects. * Maintains and improves personal effectiveness by delivering quality and timely products and services; adapting to changing priorities, demands and expectations; and acquiring and applying new skills and knowledge. * The employee must be productive under tight timeframes, balance multiple and competing priorities and maintain goal-directed behavior and performance sometimes under stressful conditions.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PPT;* Experience in running reports and analysis using large date sets in excel. * Ability to meet tight timeframes/deadlines;* Experience conducting technical reviews of research reports and data summaries;* Ability to learn quickly, prioritize tasks and efficiently manage time;* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.Minimum Qualifications * Two years of related experience in data reporting and using Microsoft excel.Preferred Qualifications * Experience with Tableau or other visualization software. * Experience with R, SAS, SPSS or other statistical software.Educational SubstitutionsSB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements* A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.APPLICATION INFORMATION & REQUIREMENTSCandidate Profile (application) must be complete in its entirety.   • Annual Leave - All full-time Career Service employees filling established positions earn annual leave in varying increments dependent upon years of creditable service. Employees with up to 5 years of creditable service earn 8.667 hours per month, with 5 to 10 years earn 10.833 hours per month and those with over 10 years of service earn 13 hours per month. Employees in Senior Management Service and Selected Exempt Service positions are credited with 176 hours of annual leave upon appointment. In subsequent years, the annual allotment is credited on the anniversary date of the initial appointment. * Sick Leave -.
