The instructor will develop the progression of activities consistent with the YMCA philosophy. Must have knowledge and ability to teach art and should enjoy working with young people.
Teach art and craft classes.
Develop a lesson plan.
Use positive encouragement with participants
Work cooperatively with staff and volunteers
Proper cleaning of the equipment daily
Maintain constant and accurate communication with supervisor concerning schedule changes, supplies and equipment needs and other pertinent information.
Maintain an up to date knowledge of the discipline.
Must follow proper dress code, wearing a YMCA staff shirt
Must attend all required trainings including CPR and First Aid
Maintain the cleanliness and order of the equipment and supplies
Maintain a safe classroom environment.
Perform other duties as may be required by supervisors for the benefit of the program
Must be at least 18 years of age
Three years of training or equivalent in the field in which they will teach
One year of teaching experience within the field
Able to lift, carry, squat and bend on a regular basis.
Able to perform heavy work including exerting 50 pounds of force and up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects including the human body.
Possess vision clarity from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet and with the ability to observe an area up or down or to the right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.
Possess the ability to perform the following activities: stooping, lifting, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, fingering, talking, hearing
