The Product Support & Logistics Division currently has an opening for a Program Specialist in our Morton, IL facility.

As Program Specialist for the Product Support & Logistics Division (PSLD) at Caterpillar, you will be responsible for development, updates and collaboration with key business partners for successful execution of the Cross-Vertical Transformation elements. This role will interface with the cross-vertical leaders in Resource Industries, Construction Industries and Energy & Transportation, in addition to the workstream leads for the Cross-Vertical Transformation elements. This role reports directly to the PSLD Transformation Office Manager. This role is a key enabler of structured governance and organized execution of PSLD and the enterprise's strategy in support of the Services, Distribution & Digital (SD&D) portfolio. Additionally, the role will lead and participate in a fully aligned governance process which maximizes profitable growth for the enterprise.

This role requires a strong background in project management with positive results achieved by providing leadership in the development and updates of program and project management schedules. Accountability to ensure project deliverables are achieved on time, within budget and scope is critical to the success of the role. The incumbent will informally lead, motivate and encourage teamwork, and have proven executive presence for communicating effectively with senior management by providing a clear vision of what determines successful projects/programs for the customer and for the company. Essentially, this role collaborates heavily by providing the following to the Transformation Office Manager, Transformation GM and Workstream Leads:

  • Project Lead for special projects, which requires management and ability to drive progress and provide ongoing updates

  • Manage PSLD SMART Goals for Transformation GM's department

  • Provide standard and ad-hoc updates through collaboration with WS & Vertical Leads

  • Coordinate Obeya activities for PSLD Transformation team

Basic Qualifications:

  • Proven experience delivering large projects leveraging project management principles, including project charters, scheduling and planning projects and successful completion experience

  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required to deal with sensitive issues, confidential issues, to develop others, or influence inside and outside the department to take specific actions

  • Bachelors Degree in business or the equivalent experience

  • Multi-business unit experience

Top candidates will also have:

  • Professional training in project management software and techniques

  • Experience leading and facilitating meetings with executive sponsors is highly desired

  • Exceptional collaboration and networking skills

  • Ability to be futuristic and proactive

  • Ability to build consensus quickly

  • Ability to simplify complex information and develop clear communications and presentation materials to a variety of audiences

  • Technical or analytical focus is highly desirable

  • Previous Green Belt or Black Belt experience
