The Bursar & Treasury Services team is seeking a collaborative and detail oriented Program Specialist with a background in higher education. This is an exciting position for an individual that enjoys working with a team whose focus is student support. This position will work collaboratively with all of the staff in our treasury, student accounts and accounts receivable departments. The successful candidate will identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in student accounts operations, treasury operations and accounts receivable functions and will implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance service delivery and student satisfaction. A background in student services in higher education is highly desirable as well as experience in accounting, research, data entry and reporting.

At this time, the work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 hours a day. Daily work hours are flexible around the core hours of 7am

  • 5:30pm. Currently, this position is eligible for hybrid work with expectations of 4 days on-site, but this might vary or change depending on the needs of the student and department. In order to work remotely, the individual must have an appropriate workspace, adequate internet access, and may not perform other duties (such as child/elder care, other job) during work hours. The department will provide a laptop that can be used both remotely and on-site. The worksite would be determined at the time of interview, but would be one of our 4 main campus locations (Sylvania, Rock Creek, Cascade, or Southeast), with travel to other campus locations when needed.

Candidate Profile

These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position.

Throughout the screening process, you will be evaluated based on the demonstration of these qualifications.

  • Ability to research, analyze, compile and present information and reports.

  • Demonstrated experience assisting in program planning and organizing including assisting in defining program goals and objectives and developing procedures and processes in a community college or university setting.

  • Experience coordinating with internal college resources, support services and external agencies.

  • Experience in a lead role over other employees; classified staff as well as casual and student employees with background in selecting staff, making work assignments, staff training and development in a community college setting.

  • Experience identifying and resolving problems; monitoring workflow; reviewing and evaluating work methods and procedures.

  • Previous experience creating and/or maintaining program records and files, including electronic and paper records and providing administrative support.

  • Ability to attend meetings and serve as organizer or member of groups and committees associated with the department.

Minimum Qualifications

Positions in this classification typically require a blend of administrative experience, including expertise with technological resources, and experience or training related to the program or service to which assigned. A typical way to meet these requirements would be:

Associate's degree or equivalent units (Experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis)

AND

Two years of responsible experience related to financial services programs.

Knowledge of:

Client or customer needs and circumstances; related or supportive community needs and resources, regulatory requirements and organizations; related college services and resources; funding sources and requirements; accounting and fiscal record keeping practices; general office administration and operation.

Ability to:

Effectively perform each the tasks listed on the Classification Description, as assigned; make effective use of technological resources; develop and maintain effective relationships with program clients, college staff at all levels and partner/regulatory agency personnel; analyze, interpret and compile complex data; continuously monitor and ensure program effectiveness and success.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years experience working in a community college setting in the area of finance, student services, or treasury services.

  • 2 years of cash handling and reconciliation experience

  • ERP experience such as Banner, Workday, or Colleague

  • Google Suite experience including google forms, google sheets and google calendar

  • Demonstrated experience in lean process improvement, reporting and position document management.

Position Grade 20 Starting Salary Expectations The first two steps of the range are: $53,870 to $55,484 per year. Higher salary placement may be available based on qualifications, experience and internal equity. Position Grade Salary Range $53870 to $86443 Annual Salary FTE 1 PCC Benefits

  • Starts at 8 hours of vacation leave per month (additional vacation hours with years of service)

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Work is typically performed in a standard office environment and exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis. Duties typically involve managing multiple priorities, handling interruptions, deadlines and other work pressures. Some positions may require local and long distance travel and the use of a personal vehicle.

Learned physical skill is required for keyboarding and ten-key functions. Occasional lifting, guiding and/or carrying of light weight materials and equipment.
