Position Title: Program Service Aide (P.S.A.)
Reports To: Treatment Director or otherwise specified Clinical Staff
Entry Level Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED. Ability to communicate well and write legibly. Understanding of disease concept and dynamics of chemical dependency and recovery. Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of one year experience in addictions treatment.
1.Must walk within the facility and on the grounds for approximately 3 miles per 8 hour shift.
2.Must be capable of administering CPR and being certified.
3.Must be able to bend and stoop from a standing position to the floor.
4.Must be able to stand continuously in increments of 45 minutes to 1 hour.
5.Must have valid State Driver's License and a safe driving record.
6.Must be able to physically assist a disoriented or intoxicated a patient of average weight of 140 to 170 lbs from the floor to a chair or bed.
7.Must be emotionally and physically capable of functioning under stressful situations.
8.If recovering, two years of continuous verifiable abstinence.
The P.A. will assist in the overall care and supervision of the patients. The P.A. will function in a professional manner and evidence a positive attitude in all aspects of work. The performance of all duties will be consistent with Bradford philosophy, enhance the therapeutic environment and protect the confidentiality of all patients.
Know and abide by the general provisions of 42 CFR Part 2, "Confidentiality of Drug and Alcohol Abuse Patient Records", and 45 CFR "Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act." This position has restricted access to patient health information.
1.Be aware of where patients are at all times, circulating around the facility on a regular basis.
2.Assist nurse (when needed) with admitting procedures for new patients.
3.Assure that all patients follow the Bradford Program Schedule and are on time for each assignment.
4.Demonstrate the ability to communicate and relate to patients clearly and effectively.
5.Keep in close contact with Clinical Team.
6.Report any infractions of policy to the Supervisor.

7.Supervise patient activities as directed.
8.Assure that patients are in their rooms at the designated times in the evening.
9.Attend staff training programs as scheduled.
10. Assist nurse or counselor, on request.
11. Regular attendance.
12. Other related jobs which are necessary to the daily operation of the Treatment Center.
