Program Room Assistant

Bonus- $3,000 General Responsibilities The Program Room Assistant is responsible for providing vocational instruction to assigned individuals in a structured environment designed to promote intellectual, emotional and social growth. He/she will assist in implementing teaching plans that are appropriate to the ages and populations served, specifically adults (ages 18+ years) with autism, intellectual/developmental disabilities and acquired brain injury. The Program Room Assistant will typically be assigned to a program room but may be required to work with individuals from other program rooms, as assigned by supervisors. Populations served are sometimes intensely physically challenging and/or requiring total assistance with daily needs. The position requires that staff be aware that individuals who are served may exhibit aggressive and/or self-injurious behavior. This requires the Program Room Assistant to be constantly alert and ready to respond to the individual#s needs according to effective behavior analytic interventions.#### Schedule:#Monday- Friday 7:30a-3:30p or 8a-4p Starting Rate: $16.50/hour (+) based on years of experience # Basic Qualifications Education/Training High School Diploma required. Certifications/Licensure A valid driver#s license and ability to meet approved Melmark driver status,#a valid US driver#s license for 2 years, and a minimum age of eighteen. Successful completion of employer provided certification in CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration and Crisis Intervention. Must successfully complete ABA training upon hire. Skill(s) Working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office. Possess strong teaching skills with emphasis on individuals who are emotionally, behaviorally, physically and/or developmentally challenged. Ability to implement function based interventions for the reduction of challenging behaviors. Experience in the principles and application of Applied Behavior Analysis is preferred. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are assets. Experience Prefer at least one (1) year experience with specialized populations.
