Ensures that the quality of Collins Aerospace products and processes are compliant with internal and regulatory standards and are continuously improving.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Function as a liaison between the customer and Collins Aerospace to address quality concerns.

  • Use customer/internal metrics and ZDP methodology to create, lead, and/or implement improvements that drive customer satisfaction.

  • Lead investigations to determine compliance with quality management system standards, configuration assurance, contractual, customer and business requirements.

  • Support the incorporation of ZDP 3.0 (AS9145) to the EACS Business Unit.

  • Develop and implement containment, root cause and corrective actions (product and systemic).

  • Communicate improvement plans and progress to the organization and customers.

  • Provide interpretation of complex requirements. Drive resolution of conflicts and clarification in requirement flow-down.

  • Participate with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) to drive resolution of quality issues which may impact product performance and/or delivery results.

  • Lead sites and teams to effective improvements using various ACE/Lean/Six Sigma Tools; RCCA, PFMEA, SPC, DMAIC, DIVE, 8D, Gage R&R, VSM, Kaizen, and the like.

  • Drives processes to develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation, control systems and protocols.

  • Provides analysis and guidance to ensure quality standards are in effect.

  • Implements testing and inspection plans, methods, and technologies to assure reliability and conformance of products and processes.

  • Analyzes and makes recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities and design problems for internally produced products & processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

  • Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor's degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Must be a US Person

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing experience

  • Experience with the review of contractual requirements

  • Understanding of engineering drawing requirements

  • AS9100D or other Industry Standard experience

Q-LEAD is a two year program consisting of three 8-month rotational assignments across a variety of quality disciplines at various business units. Through hands-on coaching and mentoring the participants will learn and develop technical skills in the quality areas they explore. The program offers valuable experience in quality engineering specialties such as Operations Quality, Quality Clinic, Supplier Quality, QMS Compliance / Regulatory Quality, CORE/Continuous Improvement, and Customer/Program Quality. Position Overview: This position is for an entry level Quality Engineering professional. Influences process and planning decisions with knowledge and explanations of Quality Engineering policies, practices and procedures. Primary Responsibilities: * Conducts activities to modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation, control systems and protocols. * Provides explanations of testing and inspection plans, methods and/or technologies to assure reliability and conformance of products and processes. * Provides analysis and develops recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities and/or design problems for internally produced products & processes. * Utilizes PPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc.) to identify risk in product development and propose risk management solutions. * Provides reviews ensure requirements are met for work transfer and process change management including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance. * Reviews process control documentation to ensure it is in compliance with requirements, objectives, and/or contracts. * Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation, control systems and protocols for materials being processed into partially finished or finished products. * Working with product design and specification, devises testing plans, methods and equipment to assure reliability of product * Collaborates internally to ensure quality standards are in effect. * Ensures that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts. * Identifies and manages risk in product development primarily utilizing and driving PPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, etc.). * Develops proactive quality initiative strategies and drives their implementation. * Performs Escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and recommends corrective action for design problems for internally produced products & processes. * Ensures all requirements are met for work transfer and process change management including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance. * Designs and implements product engineering changes to satisfy quality issues raised by customers. * Responsible for both Program and Product Quality Engineering. * Responsible for development of new inspection technologies or methodologies to assure product conformance Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR * In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required * Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder Collins Aerospace, a Raytheon Technologies company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry.
