Air Force Base Infrastructure Project Development/Programming Lead Architect/Engineer - Tucson, AZ

Job Description: Candidate will serve as the Program Planning & Development Lead Engineer (or Architect) supporting the 355th Civil Engineer Squadron (355 CES) at Davis-Monthan AFB near Tucson, AZ to evaluate, develop, recommend, and gain approval of plans and funding for new construction, renovation, and improvements of real property facilities, to include utility systems. Candidate will conduct site/facility surveys to gather preliminary information and validate requirements; solicit and define project stakeholder requirements; evaluate new construction and/or renovation project proposals for feasibility, risks, and economic soundness; develop, advocate for, and be prepared to defend funding and project programming documentation; and assist Government leadership with project programming and prioritization processes. The Engineer (or Architect) will use technical knowledge and experience to define and document project technical requirements, develop scopes of work, and create computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) drawings/narratives/briefings to communicate the project to leadership for decision. Work will be ON-SITE, embedded and integrated within the client's organization and work space.

Requirements

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a design engineer or project manager

  • Experience gathering data to solve complex technical projects

  • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.) or architectural disciplines and analytical techniques

  • Must be able to follow established project-related procedures, particularly DOD and Air Force specific project programming processes

  • Must be U.S. Citizen able to pass a fingerprint background check and work within DOD IT systems

PREFERRED:

  • Previous Air Force and/or Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) project development, military construction (MILCON), and programming experience

  • Knowledge and/or experience working with Sustainment Management System (SMS) BUILDER, Automated Civil Engineer System (ACES), TRIRIGA/NEXGEN IT, E-Gordian/e4Clicks, AutoCAD/Revit

  • Experience supervising and managing the work of others
