The Manufacturing Optimization Program Planner will be responsible for working with Domtar leaders across North America. This role will develop, update, and coordinate the deployment of Optimization initiatives. The Manufacturing Optimization Program Planner will also assist with the deployment of site-level projects, coordination of organizational readiness assessments, engagement plans and audits. Based on the aggregate collection of these project plans, this role will create and coordinate an enterprise level report and real-time calendar of work streams. This individual will work both independently and as part of a program and project teams in order to help Domtar achieve our optimization objectives.
Work with the Domtar mills to help establish and support the deployment of Optimization initiatives such as reliability, continuous improvement, environmental, safety and capital initiatives.
The Manufacturing Optimization Program Planner will collect, document, organize, and architect calendars and project plans to help drive prioritized deployment of the initiatives across the organization.
Drive projects and initiatives into an integrated plan; creating alignment among key business and functional area initiatives.
Assist the Mill Leaders with assessing broader implications, such as timing of initiatives, capital/resource availability.
Maintains schedules, performs risk analysis, identifies and resolves critical issues.
Ensure appropriate schedule, milestones, and KPIs are in place.
Provide key stakeholders with timely assessment of portfolio and project performance; ensuring timely and consistent communication to stakeholders on progress, impacts, and changes associated with management of the portfolio.
Work closely and act as a resource for project managers who will reside in the business and support functions across the mill system.
Candidate must be able to think big picture and assist in developing overall strategy for the current Pulp and Paper group but also be able to grow with the role as other opportunities are identified

Flexibility able to work independently and with teams including engineers, managers, IT leaders, etc.
Experience with MS Project / Project Management Software and tools, along with MS Office Suite Required
Bachelor's degree in management information systems, business administration, organizational psychology or a related major
Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
Minimum of 10 years of experience with at least five years leading dedicated business projects
Specific experience with MS Project (or like tools) in developing, updating, and coordinating multiple complex project plans to develop a program/portfolio (enterprise wide) calendar and plan with dependencies, contingencies, and other related business inputs
Experience in a multi-site manufacturing environment
MS Office Suite Tools including Access Database Administration
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
Strong business analytics and project management office skills
Experience with implementing Lean Manufacturing initiatives for substantial cost savings
Ability to travel 50% of the time or more, accommodating significant fluctuations in such requirements
Experience developing, updating and coordinating multiple complex project plans
