Job Purpose:

The ProgramPerformance Manager will establish the framework for program management andsupport program objectives and deliverables. Accountablefor the performance of projects and processes within a specific area ofNational Grid. Will lead strategyplanning and execution that maximizes achievement of near term team objectivesand long term strategic initiatives. Partnerswith internal clients and project teams to ensure deliverables fall within theapplicable scope, budget and schedule. This leader will coordinate with teamlead members to ensure all aspects of the project are compatible.


  • Monitor and review workundertaken across several small to medium scale programs or a large complexprogram to ensure appropriate use of resources and adherence to schedules.

  • Promoteand implement procedural best practice to ensure all working practice (andwhere relevant, health and safety standards) are compliant with National Gridpolicies and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead,own and champion change within the delivery process of a given area, managingoperational and organizational change for business excellence and growth, aswell as inspiring and engaging others in new ways of working, innovation andperformance to enhance value and commitment.

  • Develop and foster aculture of innovation in the end-to-end process, challenging and advising theteams that support the process and the wider business to understand the impactof existing policies, processes and ways of working on our contractors and onour financial performance.

  • Monitor monthlyresource levels, resource predictions, performance and plan progress to enableanalysis of key themes and trends. Report and communicate the KPIs and KPItrends for the project delivery process.

  • Monitorand challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to do thingsbetter in order to drive greater efficiencies within assigned area.

  • Identify processinefficiencies, opportunities and failures and work closely with the functionalteams to develop solutions to drive efficiencies and maximize value throughprojects, initiatives and ongoing change management.

  • Manage the overallportfolio of projects as well as personally manage the delivery of projectdeliverables during the year. Identify, manage and escalate as appropriateproject risks and issues.

  • Manage communication withstakeholders directly and indirectly impacted by changes to the contractdelivery process.

  • Work with business units, sponsors and championsto translate objectives into well-defined requirements with clearlydefined business cases to support program aims and innovation within NationalGrid.

  • Represent National Grid values when meeting withkey internal and external stakeholders such as business, municipal, orregulatory agencies.

  • Developand maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders to sharebest practice, drive consistency in resource planning and ensure timelydelivery of projects.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred and 7 years experience including experience as a program manager or project manager.

  • Excellent knowledge of the Operations environment.

  • Excellent working knowledge and experience in program management principles, tools and techniques.

  • Experience of managing the work of multi-functional or diverse teams, demonstrates taking specific actions to enable the team to function efficiently and effectively.

  • Proficient in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Project management software knowledge a plus. (Microsoft Project or P6) and other relevant company IT systems.

  • Knowledge of National Grid's business operations, company policies and practices.

  • Knowledge of relevant industry practice and legislation. Knowledge of current trends within the industry and developments in legislation or regulation.

What You'll Do Our client's Hotel R&D divisions' mission is to design, build and deliver the best-in-class solutions for Hotel IT customers. The success story has started 3 years ago with the signature of a very large IT deal ( "Figaro? project) and continues with the recent signature of a large UK customer ( "Next? project). What makes Hotel R&D Quality Engineering team unique is the diversity, a global view and the ownership of our solutions, and a huge growth perspective. This diversity also brings some exciting challenges in terms of practices & knowledge sharing, homogeneity of tools and processes, or consistency of reporting. The Quality Engineering & Releasing (QER) department is responsible for providing professional and consistent services (QA Management, End to End Testing, Component Testing, Non-functional Requirement Testing, Release Management, Process Automation & Methodology) across all development sites, divisions, and products. We are seeking a skilled Sr. Performance Test Engineer (Non-functional Requirement Testing) to guarantee that our Hotel IT platform continuously meet our customer' SLAs (Ultra High Availability). The candidate must be familiar with standard software development and quality processes, methodologies, and tools. The performance test engineer will work with his counterparts in US and France to establish a high quality performance testing strategy, build test plans and detailed performance tests, develop test scripts mapping to appropriate requirements and will produce test results artifacts. The performance engineer will be responsible for developing and executing extensive application performance tests and collaborate with software developers and Cloud Service platform architects to analyze application performance and provide optimization recommendations. Finally, the person will also contribute to the automation process, to integrate the performance campaign within our CI/CD pipeline. II. Main Responsibilities * Improve our performance tool stack to speed up and facilitate the analysis of the application performance, while leveraging on the test scenario developed by the component and E2E testers. Conduct study, compare tools, present results to the management. * Improve, document and communicate the performance stream processes to facilitate the contribution of the development team to extend our performance campaign. Help to build performance engineering best practices, standardization and strategies * Work with the project team to develop a comprehensive performance testing strategy, including detailed performance testing requirements. * Work with the project team to analyze changes introduced and assess potential performance impact and level of performance testing needed. * Collaborate with the software development teams to translate the performance requirements into appropriate test cases. * Design, script and execute load, stress, and scalability testing. * Deliver comprehensive performance testing reports and present them to the software development and project team. * Profile client and server calls triggered by the system and provide performance related feedback. * Lead the collaboration effort on performance tuning applications and systems under test. II. Requirements Education: ? Bachelor Degree or higher ?
