Reports to the Aleut Bethesda Project Manager. Responsible for the daily management of the ALEUT Bethesda Contracts Craftsmen Leads, Craftsmen, Production Control Section & all the assigned work duties they perform.

Has a wide variety of duties related to managing personnel within the department, ensuring optimal timely completion of all assigned work requirements assigned to the department, meeting or exceeding all required PWS Contract Metrics and Requirements, supporting and ensuring the safety, health and welfare needs of all department employees to include ensuring all assigned Program Craftsmen's use the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times while performing daily tasks that require PPE. Taking care of and ensuring fair treatment of Employees and ensuring World Class Customer Support & Satisfaction in all supported mission areas.

Required Skills

PRIMARY DUTY: Duties involve managing Department Leads & Craftsmen Employees to ensure maximum efficiency and compliance with PWS Contract Metrics and operating requirements.

Interfaces daily with all Supported Government Customers to ensure Maximum Customer Satisfaction in all work tasks accomplished and supported areas. Provides oversight for work related requirements requiring department personnel and or resources. Reviews & ensures timely completion of all emergency, urgent, routine and Work Order Ticket & Preventive Maintenance Services Requirements to include preparing Production / Back Log Reports, Notification of Excess Documentation (NOE) & working with Sub Contractors to develop Price Proposals for required Sub Contracted Work, or other Customer requested Services to ensure Quality Maintenance and Services are provided in all mission supported areas at all times.

Interfaces daily with & supports the Programs Procurements, Environmental, Safety & Quality Project Team Members to ensure work task requirements and employee needs are met. Plays a vital role in ensuring a positive Safety Culture is established, supported and maintained within the department, thus ensuring a Safe Work Environment and Employees Health and Welfare needs are always met.

Strives daily to properly manage funds & resources to reduce Program, Contract & Company Costs in all Work Related Tasks by ensuring Program Organic Craftsmen perform all work that is within their capabilities & Program Scope in order to reduce the amount of work that is outsourced to Sub Contractors. Controls Material Spending to ensure excess materials are not being purchased or money wasted.

Controls the use of Over Time and limits its use to Mission Essential Tasks only in Emergency Situations thus reducing Labor Costs. Ensures all Program Craftsmen have assigned Work on a daily basis and checks to ensure the assigned work is being accomplished ensuring that the Program is receiving a minimum of 8 hours of Productive Work Per Day for 8 hours of pay per day that a Craftsmen receives.

Manages Project Craftsmen Work Force in a Harmonious Manner promoting Positive Get Along & Communication amongst the Craftsmen & Program Team.

SECONDARY DUTY: Deputy Project Manager: Serves as the ALEUT Bethesda Contracts Deputy Program Manager, assumes the responsibilities of the position & performs the Program Managers duties during the Program Managers absence.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Keeps the Project Manager informed of the status of emergency, scheduled, unscheduled, forecasted & ongoing Facility Maintenance Work Tasks on a daily basis and advises the Project Manager & other Project Support Sections of critical issues, needs, requirements & Customer Concerns that affect the Project Performance & Welfare. Works with the Project Procurements, Contracting, Quality, Safety & Environmental Sections to interface & prepare required reports, schedule work and tasks, ensuring quality, compliant safe work tasks are being performed in an organized, communicated & professional manner.

Required Experience

  • Must be a Can Do Team Player, must get along well with others & support the Program Team in all ways possible.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience Leading Skilled Craftsmen in the skills of, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry and other related Skills, capable of performing Multiple Fast Paced Urgent Tasks simultaneously.

  • Must be able to work well under pressure. Must possess Outstanding Customer Support & Communications Skills, both written & verbal.

  • Must be willing and capable of building a Bonded Team and Supporting all functions of the Program Team to ensure Professionalism & Success.

  • Must be able to manage the department using a Financial Budget, and be responsible for reporting Department expenditures and cost overruns.

  • Understand, read, write, and speak fluent English.

EDUCATION: High School Diploma plus a minimum of 10 years' experience Working in & Leading Skilled Craftsmen related work.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: Must possess and maintain a valid Maryland Driver's License.

Must provide an official DMV report. Able to receive and maintain a favorable Local Background Check (LBC) and National Agency Check (NAC) as applicable to the position requirements, current and future.
