Preferred Qualifications Position Summary
The Program Manager is a critical team member on a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) High Obesity Program cooperative agreement. The Georgia High Obesity Program works in 10 counties in the state to implement evidence-based strategies for food and nutrition security, safe and accessible physical activity, and family healthy weight programs. The Program Manager will be responsible for managing this large-scale project and will be the liaison to the CDC Program Officer and other funded programs from CDC's Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity including REACH (https://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpao/state-local-programs/reach/index.htm) and SPAN (https://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpao/state-local-programs/span/span-2023.html). The Program Manager will report directly to the Principal Investigator (PI) and will work with the PI and the CDC program officer to ensure all project activities are in alignment with the workplan, CDC guidance, and UGA policies and procedures. The Program Manager will also adjust the workplan as needed to adapt to budget constraints while ensuring project milestones and performance measures are met. Program Manager tasks will include management of internal and external meetings; working in counties and with partners including completion of needs assessments, collection of evaluation data, and implementation support; and reporting to the internal team, funding agency, and other stakeholders. They will also prepare the annual continuation application documents for submission to CDC. This project will involve frequent travel to the counties.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Experience in multi-site project management including developing data collection tools, managing complex data sets, and report writing.
Previous experience in data collection methods such as surveys, observations, focus groups,
and interviews.
Previous experience with Microsoft tools including Microsoft Access and Qualtrics.
Previous experience interacting with a broad and underrepresented populace.

Develop project management tools that monitor workplan progress and inform project faculty of anticipated deviations from the workplan.
