Tyvak Nano-Satellite Systems Inc., a Terran Orbital company, is seeking a motivated and experienced Program Manager at our Irvine, CA location. Tyvak is a leading worldwide provider of nanosatellite and microsatellite vehicles, services, and solutions to Commercial and Government customers. As a Program Manager, the candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to manage the execution of customer contracts.

Specific tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate a multidisciplinary team.
  • Act as primary interface to the customer.
  • Lead all program reviews both internally and customer-facing.
  • Coordinate and manage resource allocation.
  • Track program budget and schedule using Tyvaks collaborative software tools.
  • Provide regular program status updates to company management.
  • Contribute towards continuous technology and process improvement.


  • BS or MS required. No specific major is required, though a broad technical background is highly desired.
  • 5+ years of work experience (not including school) in the aerospace industry, or commercial embedded systems.
  • Experience as a responsible design engineer on flight projects is highly desirable.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient communication skills, and ability to provide and receive constructive criticism.
  • Candidates shall be a U.S. person who is a lawful permanent resident as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or who is a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
  • Active or current Top Secret (TS) / SCI US Government security clearance is highly desired. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain TS/SCI US Government security clearance.


Salary and benefits are market competitive.

Job requirements Basic Qualifications * ● Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline. * ● Minimum of 8 years of experience in a program or complex project leadership role in a matrixed environment. * ● Able to support occasional business travel supporting customers. * ● Experience managing budgets, financial forecasts, and schedules. Preferred Qualifications * ● History of leading program pursuits for new aerospace OEM platforms. * ● Contains meaningful industry contacts at major aerospace OEMs. * ● Ability to lead, engage and motivate cross functional teams in a challenging product development environment * ● Ability to guide and control the establishment of scope, schedule, and financial plans that will facilitate successful program execution * ● Ability to serve as a primary customer point of contact * ● Effective at creating and leading positive change for efficient team performance * ● Ability to communicate well with different audiences such as cross functional peers, internal executive leadership, and with senior customers * ● Ability to have an appropriate level of technical knowledge to be able to ask the right questions, challenge the status quo, and build mutual confidence with technical counterparts * ● Leadership experience and skills showing a proven track record of meeting objectives and satisfying customer requirements * ● High degree of organization and ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously * ● Critical thinking skills to ensure long term and sustainable relationship management with a major customer. * ● Knowledge and awareness of systems engineering practices within the aerospace industry * ● High confidence in the ability to perform in the role of a program manager, leading and directing projects and teams and/or a PMP certification. * ● Experience with electromechanical aerospace systems, especially pilot controls and actuation is highly desired.
