This role significantly contributes to Starbucks' success by managing a portion of the Data Analytics, Insights and Business Operations (DAIBO) project portfolio and leading high-performing, cross-functional teams in program planning and project delivery. As a Program Manager, this position will drive program planning efforts, manage projects ranging from data platform enhancements to complex enterprise implementations, and ensure successful project delivery. The ability to collaborate with Technology and business stakeholders and build effective project teams is crucial.

As a Program Manager, you will…

  • Oversee tactical planning and day-to-day management of DAIBO programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Drive complex, cross-functional enterprise projects, managing multiple efforts simultaneously.

  • Work closely with Starbucks Technology and business leadership on strategic planning, project ideation, and business case development. Engage stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project execution.

  • Lead high-performing, cross-functional, and geographically distributed teams. Serve as a project manager, guiding projects through approval and funding gates, developing detailed project plans, and managing execution from analysis through deployment, while keeping an agile and flexible approach.

We'd love to hear from people with:

  • Experience as a senior project manager in technology or in a software development setting (3 years)

  • Experience working in technology or in a software development setting (5 years)

  • Minimum of three years' experience as a senior project manager in IT or a software development setting; must have at

  • least five years overall experience working in IT or a software development setting.

  • Experience using Agile methods and working on complex, integrated platforms required.

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or Management preferred.

  • PMP, PgMP, and Scrum Master Certifications are a plus.

  • Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities.

Acumen and Learning Agility:

  • Deep understanding of technology program and portfolio management practices.

  • Expert-level knowledge of standards and practices for technology project lifecycle management activities and deliverables.

  • Clear understanding of project technical activities, including: (1) solution analysis and design; (2) enterprise, solution, and infrastructure architecture; (3) systems integration; (4) data conversion and migration; (5) environment management and build processes; and (6) deployment planning and execution.

  • Expertise in MS Project (Project Server) and at least one program portfolio management tool, such as MS Project Portfolio Management (PPM).

  • Advanced skills in the MS Office Product Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
