Program Manager - Substance Abuse Prevention (Effective 2024-2025 School Year)

SUMMARY
The Program Manager Community Health Worker serves as a trusted liaison between the Tucson Unified School District, the community, health, and social service systems. This position will supervise, manage, and implement the strategic program plans for the district Community Health Worker mode, with a specific emphasis on Substance Abuse and Prevention Programs. The Program Manager is responsible for collaborating with internal and external partners to increase community awareness, self-sufficiency, and access to services and other resources among diverse populations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree in education, Counseling, Social Work, Social Services, or similar area of study AND
Four years of experience administering or managing programs in community organizations or settings.

OR

Bachelor's degree in education, Counseling, Social Work, Social Services, or similar area of study AND
Five years of experience administering or managing programs in community organizations or settings.

OR

Ten years of progressive experience administering or managing programs community organizations or settings

Three years experience participating in community groups and involvement with community resources or services.
Two years supervisory experience.
One year experience knowledge, or training in Substance Misuse and Abuse Programs.
Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Practices.
Proven expertise of federal and state legislative requirements related to specific program, department, or grant.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Core Competency Trained and AZCHW Voluntary Certification.
One year experience working in school settings.
Two years experience with developing and presenting with community organizations.
Bilingual English and Spanish.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
FBI fingerprint background check.
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

FTE: 1.0 - 8 hours per day
Work Calendar: 12 month

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
