As the SSD Program Manager in the Storage Business Unit at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be part of a team with dynamic strengths responsible for delivering operational excellence through our Product Lifecyle process which will grow our Enterprise and Client SSD market share.

You will be responsible for establishing and tracking programs from the planning phase through production and managing core team activities to achieve program milestones. You will be leading a core team through resolution of conflicts and overcoming obstacles to keep the programs on track and completing key milestones. You will plan and keep an up to date calendar and schedule of key milestones and track several programs through the Micron Product Lifecycle process. The Program Manager will work across several program teams to communicate our schedules and products including the engineering technical program managers.

The Program Manager will also contribute to the development and implementation of processes for improving future programs in addition to maintaining a historical record of milestone decisions and progress to the program milestones.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Managing program plans and driving a core team to deliver on program milestones

  • Leading cross-functional product development teams through planning, development, qualification, and production ramp of new SSD products

  • Communicating program status to stakeholders and internal and customers

  • Anticipating issues and implement preemptive action plans and manage program change control and executive approval of plan changes

  • Setting and driving program schedules from plan phase through production and EOL

  • Evaluating trade-offs and executing program decisions with team and stakeholder

  • Tracking progress against plan and work to resolve variance

  • Identifying and manage risks, managing change requests

  • Setting priorities for resources

  • Challenging and escalating program boundaries when they no longer make sense

  • Creating, ratifying or proposing decisions regarding the program

  • Maintaining the program plan

  • Assisting Business Line Manager with program reviews for management

  • Coordinating post-mortem reviews for continuous improvements


  • Strong project management, planning, and organization skills, including ability to handle multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work in a matrixed organization with several internal groups requiring ongoing updates

  • Experience in tracking and closing issues while working across multiple locations

  • Strong communication and team work skills

  • Demonstrated eye for business and critical thinking skills

  • Nice to have experience in TeamCenter and Sharepoint

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Business or Industrial Engineering

Strong Project Management experience 4+ years of relevant SW or HW in high tech industry
