Overview

The I.T. leader shares power, puts the needs of the employees first and helps people develop and perform as highly as possible. I.T. leadership inverts the norm, which puts the individual contributor as a main priority. Instead of the people working to serve the leader, the leader exists to serve the people. These positions have varying and progressive degrees of detail vs strategic pursuits. The percentage of time spent doing day-to-day tasks will decrease as the individual progresses through leadership. By the time the leader is in a senior role, they will be more focused on strategy execution than the actual individual tasks. The I.T. leader supports a number of I.T. staff, Supervisors and Managers depending on the role and rank within the I.T. organization.

Specialization

The Program Manager, Service Innovation will be responsible for guiding and developing the innovation and new product strategies for the organization. Will enable enterprise ideation and innovation. Will identify new opportunities and create innovative approach with appropriate processes, tools and metrics to support new growth opportunities for organization.

Responsibilities

I.T. Manager

The I.T. Manager reports directly to an I.T. Director or Sr. Manager. The Manager will have expertise in one or more functional areas providing day-to-day and strategic direction to a number of Supervisors or individual contributors. The Manager's responsibility is to ensure that the tasks assigned get accomplished within the time frame and specification requested. The Manager ensures that all team activities are monitored and measured and provides feedback to the team on agreed-upon performance success criteria. A successful candidate will understand the value of speaking up respectfully when they disagree and listening to their employees and business customer's concerns. Scope of management includes at least four (4) direct reports and no more than ten (10) except under special circumstances.

  • Ensures their direct reports understand the purpose and vision of the organization and the team's connection to purpose

  • Ensures the team fully understands all I.T. initiatives and their relationship to the goals of the organization.

  • Ensures that all Supervisors and individual contributors are engaged and productive.

  • Performs annual performance evaluations ensuring that all Supervisors and individual contributors are aware of challenges before review.

  • Encourages participation in employee surveys and action plans.

  • Monitors and measures team workloads helping with prioritization and escalation as needed.

  • Coaches all Supervisors and individual contributors on career development and Individual Development Plans.

  • Facilitates team daily or weekly team standups to discuss activities and determine barriers.

  • Champions the teams they support.

  • To the Product(s) they support

  • Reports system, process, and/or portfolio performance weekly to the I.T. Director or Sr. Manager.

  • Proactively Identifies and potential system challenges and works with the team to reduce errors and improve efficiency.

  • Fully supports and uses the established Change Management process.

  • Ensures all incidents and problems get entered into the I.T. Service Management platform, with no exceptions.

  • To the Leadership / Business they support

  • Works to understand and support the I.T. Directors, CIO, and Business Leadership in organizational and technology goals.

  • Speaks up respectfully when they are in disagreement with leadership.

  • Ensures team adherence to service level agreements.

  • Ensures teams compliance with Service Management Standards.

  • Escalates issues as they arise.

Required Experience and Professional Skills

I.T. Manager

  • Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Supervisor or individual contributor in the functional areas that they will be supporting

  • Proven record of performance management and a thorough understanding of how to measure, monitor, and prioritize the activities of a team

  • Past participation in I.T. Strategic planning efforts and ability to make connection for their team between strategic plans and the associated tactical implementation activities

  • Professional Skills

  • Demonstrated successful operational and people leadership capabilities

  • Demonstrated experience in holding teams accountable

Required Education and Certifications

I.T. Manager

  • Education: Bachelor's or equivalent work experience required, Master's preferred.

  • Certifications: as needed for the systems or functions they support

Under the leadership of the Senior Director of Core Applications Delivery, the HillChart Program Director is primarily responsible for the overall success of the HillChart Epic EHR Program. The Program Director will lead the HillChart Program Team in successfully executing the HillChart (Epic) Community Connect strategy, including maximizing physician EHR adoption, practice performance monitoring, quality improvement management, clinical workflow optimization, and overall satisfaction with HillChart product and service offerings. Performs as the bridge between physician practices and business operations, assisting practices with their HillChart needs and alignment with HPMG strategic initiatives, while ensuring strong physician practice relationships. Job Responsibilities General * Collaborates with HillChart governance, business operations and IT operations on development and oversight of the HillChart strategy, including business operational goals and performance measurements * Maintains awareness of existing and emerging technology, regulatory, and market factors and assists in the development of the HillChart program strategic plan * Oversees all financial aspects of the program and reports monthly performance results to Hill senior leadership * Works with physician practices and HillChart Governance stakeholders in directing system enhancement selection and prioritization * Manages team working alongside business operations to promote best practices consistent with EHR platform * Chairs appropriate EHR governance committees to provide broad-based input into the design and optimization of HillChart. * Champions and provides leadership for the implementation, advancement, and optimization of Epic and other 3rd party applications * Works with clinical operations teams to review and enhance system utilization and configuration to improve the efficiency and outcomes of clinical care * Prepares and delivers informative, well organized presentations and written reports Account Management * Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships with our independent physician community in delivering effective Epic service offerings and solutions * Develops and grows HillChart Community Connect program through engaging potential new physician practices in obtaining HillChart EHR, connecting business operations and IT stakeholders in achieving successful outcomes * Partners with physician network operations in qualifying new HillChart practice candidates, and presents to HillChart Governance for review and approval * Manages EHR donation program relationship * Sets customer expectations, prioritizes tasks, and delivers solutions on time. Proposes solutions to problems and considers timeliness, effectiveness, and practicality in addressing practice's needs Clinical Integration * Assists leadership in providing program vision by performing as a strategic and tactical leader for clinical systems initiatives * Oversee clinical workgroups and operational teams in elevating physician practice's use of the HillChart Epic EHR application, implementation of new systems and functionality, workflow optimization, and use of data and reports for quality improvement * Responsible for the use of HillChart to assist clinicians in the delivery of the highest quality and most appropriate patient care by ensuring program clinical best practices * Participates in key clinical leadership groups in the creation of required clinical content, protocols, workflows and related system usage polices Program Adoption * Strengthen physician practice HillChart Epic application acceptance and user engagement * Operates as a leader in helping to establish and communicate a vision and plan for the use and adoption of the Epic EMR * Collaborates with business operations on practice program adoption and directs program team accordingly * Builds relationships with physicians to gain support of information technology initiatives. Is highly responsive to user's needs, including training, to assure widespread acceptance and provider use of the EHR system Quality Assurance * Advocates data governance by identifying and addressing critical data quality management issues, monitoring and improving quality data * Works with the IT team members, vendors and end users to ensure that the application systems are reliably tested, documented, and implemented. Serving as a liaison between end users' workflow needs and Hill's application and technical analysts * Oversees monitoring of workflow design, building and validating the system, and analyzing other technical issues associated with Epic software ensuring design and configuration meets patient care and business needs Health Information Management * Oversee health information quality analysis, collection and management duties needed to organize, maintain and use patient medical records in HillChart * Ensures and maintains the data integrity and quality of the HillChart Master Patient Index (EMPI) * Promote proper provider practice and organizational policies, processes and workflows that fall under HIM; chart oversight, deficiency tracking, release of information, transcription, scanning, confidentiality and privacy Training * Lead the Learning Center (LCM) Manager in the development, management and execution of educational programs across the organization to physician practice and business related operations. * Guide partnership of LCM with operational leadership and stakeholders to identify learning needs and desired outcomes incorporating business workflows into training curriculum and implementation of end-user training as well as ongoing education. Required Experience Experience * Extensive working knowledge of healthcare and clinical systems.
