Department Overview

Major Infrastructure Delivery (MID) is an exciting organization with over 1,000 coworkers, 10,000+ contract partners, and a $2.96 billion budget. The following are some of the key areas we are accountable for delivering in MID:

Position Summary

The Principal Program Manager reports to and works closely with the Manager of Inspections Analytics & Support, working cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to support enhancements to and provide greater visibility to ongoing inspection workstreams while delivering on operational goals. They will help lead efforts to create greater visibility on inspection work processes and financial performance through enhanced reporting and data visualization. They will identify and resolve process gaps, streamline workflows, and accelerate innovative solutions. They may also lead new cross-functional initiatives. They will support the development of new inspection processes, evaluation and integration of new and emerging technologies, and collaborate with analysts and developers on the team as well as IT stakeholders managing PG&E's internal inspection software. They will also provide support to all aspects of the contracts lifecycle to ensure inspections partners have the contractor support needed for the most optimal cost.

The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory and will be agreed upon by the successful candidate and hiring leader.

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your headquarters based on business needs.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area) $ 140,000.00

Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area) $ 238,000.00

OR

Minimum Base Salary (California) $ 133,000.00

Maximum Base Salary (California) $ 226,000.00

Job Responsibilities

  • Solve unique and complex process problems, anticipating issues and developing innovative process solutions. Present findings and propose recommendations to senior leadership to gain agreement.

  • Work with senior management to support strategic planning and decision making in relation to organizational and cross functional business processes.

  • Collaborate with analysts and developers to optimize reporting tools and inspections data processes, and drive productivity improvements.

  • Leads development of program goals and metrics to meet company goals and objectives. Collaborates across organization to ensure alignment of goals to support program

  • May manage major cross-functional projects and initiatives

  • Recognized subject matter expert who represents PG&E in regulatory and/or industry forums on subject of expertise.

  • Coaches and mentors less experienced employees

  • Responsible for utilizing other departments and teams to meet program goals

  • May organize and lead cross-utility project teams to influence utility, regulatory and/or industry decisions

  • Develops or provides significant input to PG&E leadership, other utilities with similar programs, industry and/or regulatory decision makers to influence market place and regulatory strategies impacting PG&E and its customers

  • Leads large statewide energy efficiency programs or efforts on behalf of PG&E to resolve issues and conflicts or to educate other parties

  • Travel may be required

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of related experience or equivalent

Desired:

  • Master's degree preferred

  • PMP Certification

  • Lean certification

  • Strong background in data analytics and visualization best practices, including with Power BI

  • Familiarity with programming languages, including Python

  • Familiarity with GIS, AWS, and Foundry

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products

  • Ability to use understanding of the business to help drive strategic decision making, and to recommend operational improvements

  • Ability to lead the largest, most complex projects across Operations

  • Deep knowledge and expertise of business and or industry drivers

  • Ability to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams

  • Ability to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs

  • Adept at addressing issues with diplomacy and tact

  • Primarily office environment with extensive use of personal computers, telephone conversations, conference calls and in person meetings
