Program Manager

Omnicell has an exciting opportunity to join the Program Management Office (PMO) as a Program Manager at our Cranberry Township, PA location. This position is accountable for managing each phase of Omnicell's product development process from inception through commercial launch. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Program Management or the PMO Manager, the Program Manager will have individual development efforts under their leadership and will work with other members of the PMO to ensure coordination between programs and to improve processes.


  • Manages the planning and execution of one or more product development programs to meet business objectives.

  • Coordinates the efforts of PMO staff members in support of program objectives as needed.

  • Contributes to the PMO team's efforts to establish and continuously improve program management best practices.

  • Manages priorities to balance customer value, quality, program timeliness, risk, and program budget.

  • Integrates all objectives and functions, manages interdependencies across all activities of the program. Ensure all work has been completed and reviewed per program schedule.

Required Knowledge and

  • Knowledge of and experience with the process of commercial new product introduction (NPI) from concept, through development and release to commercial launch and customer hand-off.

  • Ability to drive teams and self to meet commitments in order to achieve success. Hold self and team accountable for results. Ability to work with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to manage the team to create or optimize value for customers during decision making, planning, execution, and managing change.

  • Ability to use knowledge of the company strategy and product roadmap to guide decision making.

  • Ability to use knowledge to Initiate, Plan, Execute, Monitor / Control, and Close projects in accordance with industry standard principles.

  • Ability to effectively tailor processes within the program constraints to minimize effort and maximize value.

  • Ability to assess change and communicate impacts, lead replanning activities, and apply a structured methodology to approve and document changes.

  • Demonstrated skill and maturity to identify and interact with stakeholders, assess their needs, provide metrics and status reports as needed, and manage stakeholder's expectations throughout the lifetime of the program.

  • Strongly demonstrated communication skills - practicing active listening, maintaining a positive attitude, keeping an open mind, taking responsibility for communication success, and using appropriate communication methods. Communicate effectively to all levels of the organization, including to the executive level.

  • Ability to present the acceptable level of detail to program stakeholders within the organization. Understands how to create effective presentations, visuals and outputs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Five (5) years of experience in Project or Program Management in Product Development

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, finance or business.

  • Master's degree

  • Project Management certification or certificate (PMP, PgMP, CPM (DAU), etc.).

  • Understands the principles of product portfolio management.

  • Knowledge of and experience with various Agile practices and frameworks such as SCRUM and Kanban. Ability to interact with Scrum Masters and Product Owners and others Agile based roles. Able to integrate Agile timelines (Sprints, etc.) into overall program schedules.

  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles and Systems Integration of hardware and software in product development.

  • Experience in program management or other technical role working with and within a regulated quality management system (DOD, FDA, ISO) for product development.

  • Knowledge of and experience with the process for procurement of goods and services including, contracts, statements of work, and requests for proposal.

  • Knowledge of and experience with development, verification, validation, and manufacturing of electro-mechanical systems.

  • Working knowledge of and experience with Software as Service concepts and how it is developed and deployed.

  • Working knowledge of and experience with cloud computing, data analytics, big data, machine learning or artificial intelligence.

Job Summary The Engineering Project/Procurement Coordinator will work with Engineering Program Managers, the purchasing team, and others to oversee the procurement/delivery process of hardware and accessories that support hardware programs under development. The programs are complex and require tracking orders and delivery of goods to worldwide teams in time to meet program deadlines. While overseeing the procurement/delivery process, the coordinator will be responsible for understanding finance guidelines, updating the project budget, and assisting the Program Managers with financial reporting. The coordinator plays a vital role in the success of the program. The person for this position must be flexible, adaptable to change and be able to lead the procurement efforts for programs. The ideal candidate is eager, possesses a very strong work ethic, and is proactive.
