The purpose of this position is to manage the day-to-day operations for the Genentech diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in STEM grant at WSU which includes assisting with developing program materials, scheduling group sessions, monitoring program performance and assuring adherence to WSU policies and procedures.

Our community-based medical school, Boonshoft School of Medicine (BSOM), est. 1973, is affiliated with six major teaching hospitals, two federal institutions, and over 30 other healthcare institutions. BSOM learners get focused training with a community-based, diverse set of patients, practices, and facilities. BSOM has 13 accredited residency programs and 10 accredited fellowships, with opportunities for growth. BSOM helps educate over 212 graduate students, 510 medical students, 488 residents & fellows each year.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in health sciences, public health, management, or related field and 5 years of related experience.

  • Experience in the fields of education and/or social justice/anti-racism pedagogy preferred.

  • Knowledge of research administration procedures, data collection, and data reporting.

  • Ability to work independently to achieve performance objectives.

  • Ability to communicate with the team members while using highly effective communication interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to adapt to various competing demands and demonstrate the highest level of service and response. Ability to work autonomously.

  • Proficiency in standard computer platforms and software applications (Word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Certification

  • Experience in the fields of education and/or social justice/anti-racism pedagogy.

  • Experience with technical writing/scientific publication.

  • Team Leadership and Team Development experience preferred

Essential Functions and percent of time:

65% WSU BSOM OB/Gyn Program Manager

  • Work closely with program leadership to plan and implement strategies focusing on expanding the program focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion training to Southwestern Ohio.

  • Plan and direct day-to-day operations for the Genentech Advancement of Health Equity grant according to established research objectives

  • Collect data and facilitate the development of the program website, program materials, and information for sponsors, partners, and institutional leadership.

  • Compile and analyze information related to the program and recommend change

  • Develop, recommend, and implement processes and protocols to support program aim

  • Develop educational programming platform for continued interaction and growth of skills learned in training session as follow-up of program.

25% Relationship Management

  • Build and nurture relationships focused on collaboration with internal and external partners.

  • Serve as a liaison among internal and external stakeholder groups, collaborates across disciplines and functional areas, provides program information as applicable.

  • Manage the infrastructure and expansion of the program facilitators, including but not limited to training/certification and managing vendor materials and payments, program attendees; work with faculty affairs to develop and provide CME credits or appropriate educational credits.

  • Schedule and manage training groups, recruit participants by using a variety of outreach strategies including electronic methods and in-person demonstrations.

10% Supervision & Administration

  • Recruit and supervise program interns and support team members, including onboarding, managing work schedules/leave, achieving goals and meeting deadlines, and academic requirements as applicable.

  • Collaborate with Procurement and manage external funding for program sustainability, including budget and proposal writing, and managing grant finances.

  • Assist with reviewing, recommending, and implementing program policies and procedures.

This is a grant funded position with continuation dependent on funding. Special contract terms and conditions of employment apply.

Administrative support and project leadership activities occurring predominately at Wright State University Department of OB/Gyn with some work at clinical locations. Monday-Friday, day shift.
