Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plans, drives and monitors the overall scheduling, pricing, and technical performance of company programs.

  • Negotiates and prepares contracts by considering the financial conditions, resources, and contractual requirements.

  • Cross-company communication, coordination and governance for assign program/s.

  • Ensures adherence to master plans and schedules, develops solutions to program problems, and directs work of incumbents assigned to program from various departments.

  • Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget.

  • Acts as adviser to program team regarding projects, tasks, and operations.

  • Ability to identify program deficiencies and to create new processes / artifacts to address the root issue.

Essential Education, Experience, and Interests

  • Requires a bachelor's degree.

  • Typically reports to a department head.

  • Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.

  • True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.

  • Has full authority for personnel actions.

  • Typically requires 15+ years of professional experience, 5 years' experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 3+ years supervisory experience may be required.

  • Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.

  • 10+ Years in Healthcare IT

  • Demonstrated ability and proven program results

The Program Manager will report into the Director of Business Commercial Ops and work with business unit leaders and functional leaders at the highest levels within the organization to execute on a wide variety of strategic projects aimed at optimizing the way we use our vendors, commercials we negotiate, and ensuring we are fully leveraging the scale of Verizon across our contracts. The PM may be asked to drive business projects across multiple Verizon business units. The PM will not only get to frame the initiative scope and strategy but will also lead the execution of the recommendations. In this process, the PM will lead the execution teams in tandem with the business and functional units. * Lead conception, scope definition, and execution of various types of strategic and vendor initiatives, ranging from Corporate and Operational Strategy, Process Improvement to financial negotiations. * Provide proactive and engaged leadership on key projects designed to increase reduce expenses, enhance business efficiency, and improve customer experience * Act as an effective change agent utilizing proper stakeholder analysis and change management techniques * Working with the Director of Commercial, provide effective leadership for the initiatives under analysis and execution * Provide senior leadership and functional unit management with updates on project status, key metrics, issues, and risks * Understand and analyze various drivers impacting key metrics and outcomes and provide a fact-based recommendation to the stakeholders * Be a liaison between business units on projects that have a multi-organization or business unit scope * Facilitate team meetings and cross-functional workshops * Conduct analyses needed to prove or disprove the hypothesis driving the project execution * Proactively anticipate and work towards mitigating risks to project execution or stakeholder engagement. What we're looking for... You are someone that has excellent verbal and written communication skills, and are comfortable working up and across the organization from senior staff members to front line employees. You have a proven record for managing multiple simultaneous projects on time and budget and are an experienced team leader with proven facilitation and problem solving experience. You are a strategic thinker that results in new ideas that drive the business forward. You'll need to have: * Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience. * Six or more years of relevant work experience. * Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time. Even better if you have: * Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or any other technical discipline. * Experience working in a vendor management organization. * Experience working in telecom or related industries. * Excellent presentation skills, including ability to create presentations using MS PowerPoint and experience presenting to all levels of an organization. * Quantitative and analytical skills, including ability to conduct outside/inside research, analyze data, and use MS Excel effectively to develop models and drive analyses. * Experience in vendor strategy, operational processes, and customer experience.
