Microsoft is making huge investments in building its massive, global cloud infrastructure. We are imagining infrastructure scales that have never been experienced by the computing industry before. Basic qualifications:

  • 3+ years in demand planning / supply planning or related decision sciences organization

  • B.S. in Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business or other related quantitative disciplines, MBA Preferred #CPM

Preferred qualifications include:

  • A driving passion for innovation and technology

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain concepts (Experience preferred) in Technology or Retail industry

  • Strong aptitude for analytic thinking and disciplined problem solving

  • Excellent communication skills & ability to collaborate across multiple organizations to move business forward.

  • Familiarity with forecasting and statistical concepts

  • Proven capabilities of exemplary impact through cross-group collaboration and partnerships

  • Own and maintain the Capacity Plan and associated parameters for Microsoft Azure Cloud Infrastructure

  • Serve as a functional expert in all aspects of capacity planning

  • Act as a key subject matter expert on Microsoft Azure products and related capacity planning parameters to partner engineering groups

  • Understand and incorporate risks to the capacity plan, and recommend mitigation strategies

  • Partner with business, operations, finance, and engineering to understand capacity requirements

  • Drive best practices in capacity and supply planning systems and processes, drive continuous improvement

  • Communicate to leadership the recommended capacity plan, including its underlying assumptions and strategic basis, upside and downside risk factors, and our plans for adapting to the unpredictable.

Our charter spans the breadth of Cloud + AI, where we design and deliver standardized views of business performance, identify salient trends, perform ad hoc analyses of historical data, define benchmarks and models for predicting upcoming performance, and surface key insights. As the availability of data and demand for analysis grows, we need a capable data scientist to help stakeholders across the organization better understand user behavior and service usage, create compelling offers, and optimize the customer experience. KEY QUALIFICATIONS: * 5-7 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or data driven business strategy. * Functional knowledge of cloud computing and online services business models, including business, technical, and operational metrics. * Demonstrated analytical ability; problem deconstruction, statistical thinking, meticulous forensic analysis skills, data validation, and scientific rigor. * Demonstrated stakeholder management ability including effective prioritization, clear concise communication, and delivery of actionable data driven insights. * Highly proficient with T-SQL and Excel. Experience with PowerBI, Kusto, Python and/or R preferred. * Experience applying business concepts to data resulting in insights on customer acquisition funnel, retention, and monetization. * Demonstrated analytical ability; problem deconstruction, statistical competency, meticulous forensic analysis skills, data validation, and scientific rigor. * Experience working with financial data to derive customer insights.
