Department Information
Georgia Tech's ambitious Arts @Tech strategic plan seeks to grow the arts across the campus through co-curricular initiatives that promote engagement and well-being, new and growing academic programs at the intersection of art and technology, increased emphasis on the arts in research and creative work, new partnerships with creative industries and arts organizations, and collaboration across our own community and with those around us.
In March 2024, Georgia Tech created a new office to lead implementation of the plan, with a particular focus on the creation of new academic programs as well as Arts Square, a planned campus district that will support the full breadth of the Institute's goals in the arts. A new position, Associate Vice Provost for the Arts, was created to lead this office.
Job Summary
The Program Manager works with many levels of leadership and staff to manage program efforts based on industry best practices; works as the single point of contact for facilitation and communication of program goals, deliverables, and schedules, and must be an excellent communicator; various levels of documentation will be produced at each stage of the program and the program manager is often the person who creates these with input from others.

Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Facilitate the creation of program definitions, work breakdowns, rough order estimates, program plans, communication plans, and program schedules and specifications
Job Duty 2 -
Research solutions to program management issues using the appropriate resources; lead short-term, tactical programs of diverse types
Job Duty 3 -
Promote and follow the objectives, priorities, goals of programs through best practices and industry-standard methodologies
Job Duty 4 -
Interact regularly with program sponsors, stakeholders, program teams, and others to determine their needs and use the existing program methodology to develop plans to address these efficiently
Job Duty 5 -
Facilitate or contribute to team or programmatic meetings to communicate program timelines, milestones, and updates
Job Duty 6 -
May participate in and provide information for the strategic planning process at the unit or department level
Job Duty 7 -
Create program artifacts, agendas, presentations, and meeting minutes for program team; Prepare reports and program documentation
Job Duty 8 -
May provide training, guidance, and direction to other staff, especially as it pertains to the use of tools for effective program management

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Proposed Salary
The salary for this open position is $80,000 - $83,991.00. The final salary commensurate with education and experience.

Other Information
The Program Manager to serve as an external engagement coordinator for this new office, reporting to the Associate Vice Provost for the Arts. The key deliverables for this role are to a) assist with external engagement and partnership building with arts and community organizations and creative industries to inform the development of Arts Square and new academic programs in arts and technology; b) lead efforts to activate existing and new campus spaces with arts programming; and c) assist in developing and executing a new communications and branding strategy to elevate and celebrate the arts.
The individual in this role will need the ability to establish and maintain effective, successful working relationships with community, arts, industry, and community stakeholders, to take initiative, multitask and prioritize projects while working in fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment, and to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Strong expertise in and knowledge of arts, industry, and/or community organizations and experience with working across a broad arts and entertainment ecosystem is also highly desirable, along with experience in artistic practice, creative industry, arts administration, and/or curation, particularly at the intersection of art and technology.
