Position Summary:

The Program Management Intern/Co OP, will work with the Program Management Team to support Product Introduction (NPI), Contract Review, ERP status reports, and Customer Interactions.

We are looking for a recent graduate or 3/4th year student who is interested in learning about Program Management.

This is non exempt paid hourly position. Minimum requirement of 30 hours worked per week.

Reporting Relationships:

The Program Management Intern/Co Op will report to the Director of Program Management

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

The Program Management Intern will learn the practical application of:

  • Communicate with Assigned Customers throughout the product life cycle to include RFQ,Bid Process, Program Scope & Design, 1st Article, Implementation

  • Periodic reports of ongoing performance against project plan metrics

  • Receive & Coordinate responses/bids for new Business RFQs

  • Work with other groups/stakeholders to understand, define, prioritize, and develop manufacturing programs as defined by the business requirements and the budget process.

  • Actively participates in the key planning of program milestones, key goals, objectives, and success, and drive alignment to these project goals

  • Work with the Production Control and Manufacturing Leadership teams to identify and schedule all the work required to fulfill program scope, including identification and management of critical path tasks.

  • Work with senior staff members and core team to identify and analyze risks

  • and issues.

  • Populate data and run reports from ERP System (Syteline)

  • Track and manage the program schedule and task details included in the

  • program plan.

  • Analyze the actual performance against the plan and make

  • adjustments consistent with plan objectives.

  • Ensure program milestones are accomplished and ensures overall timelines are met.

  • Communicate updates on major milestones and keeps all stakeholders

  • informed of progress and issues.

  • Participate in Continuous Improvement projects throughout the organization using Lean, CI and Six Sigma principles

  • Develop visual adult training materials for production personnel

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

  • Engineering or Science Degree

  • Proficiency with ERP Systems and Microsoft office products

  • Interest and aptitute to work in the Aerospace Manufacturing field.

  • Personable, able to comfortably and pleasantly deal with a variety of people

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Problem solving capabilities necessary to accomplish the duties and tasks of the position

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

The Intern is expected to be a contributor in design and development efforts including concept generation, detailed design, analysis and documentation. The Intern's primary deliverable will be the fulfillment of assignments in support of ongoing design and support activities. The Intern works in a team environment working with both external and internal customers. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following is a list of duties, tasks, work activities and/or functions the Intern Design Engineer will/may be required to perform: • The Intern will be responsible to complete drafting assignments using Solidworks in support of designs completed by other engineers within the organization. • The Intern will be responsible to assist with modeling and dimensioning detailed drawings using Solidworks. • The Intern will be responsible to perform tolerance stacks, basic stress analyses, select materials and define appropriate processes in support of defining and substantiating that an end item meets the customer requirements. • The Intern will be responsible to work in a team environment including internal team members and suppliers. An Intern must be able to work collaboratively and communicate effectively to achieve the program goals. SPECIFICATIONS: The following is a list of skills, abilities, training, education, experience, values, interests and /or talent that the Intern Design Engineer will be expected to possess and demonstrate: • The Intern position is considered a part time position as the Intern is expected to be an actively enrolled student in an accredited university. The Intern must be in a Bachelor of Science (BS) curriculum in Engineering (or working towards this goal). • The intern weekly hours will be adjusted each semester, or as needed, to enable the intern to attend classes. • Completion of 2rd year level (3rd year is ideal) college courses in support of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering with a strong curriculum emphasis on structural design, analysis and mechanics of materials is required (Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering is preferred). An equivalent number of years of experience in related or supporting job functions, or completion of only one year may be considered. • Prior experience as a summer intern in the area of engineering is preferred. • Completion of Computer Aided Design classes and drawing reading experience is preferred. Enrollment or completion in a Solidworks class is a requirement. • Must possess strong communication skills necessary to exchange detailed written and verbal information communicated in English. • Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and Microsoft Office tools such as Word and Excel.
