TheProgram Manager plays a key role in the delivery of a number of key internalinitiatives. The role is within the

Client Operations center which will require levering significant strategic planning,influencing, problem-solving and project management skills to facilitatecross-functional delivery of programs designed to maximize customersatisfaction and retain revenue.


Essential Functions:

  • Develops a deep understanding of issues and challenges andproposes and initiates programs to address them.

  • Outlines success criteria/metrics and manage projects tosuccessful conclusion.

  • Coordinates internal resources and as needed, third partiesto ensure flawless execution of projects.

  • Ensures that all projects are delivered on-time, within scopeand within budget.

  • Measures and reports on project progress using appropriatetools and techniques.

  • Reports and escalates to management as needed.

  • Develops and presents weekly executive dashboards reportingon projects, issues and risks of assigned projects.

  • Successfully manages relationships with all stakeholders.

  • Performs risk management to minimize project risks.

  • Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation.



Education, Licenses, and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or any other related field.


  • Minimum 3 years of proven project management experience in the information technology industry.
CriticalKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Solid organizational skills including strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrated expertise in producing high quality presentations.


  • Although duties are typically performed duringnormal business hours, off-hours work may be required to meet customer and/orbusiness needs.

  • Position may require up to 15% of travel bothdomestic and international.

VIEW JOBS 11/11/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-09T00:00 Under the direction of the Assistant Director of the SUNY Center for Professional Development, the Program Manager will work in a team of professionals who support the development, delivery and services of university-wide professional development programs, community meetings, conferences, workshops/courses, webinars, conference calls, and events. These professional development opportunities take place in a variety of formats, leveraging technologies to enable this work. The Program Manager will work with the Performance Improvement Fund (PIF) Communities of Practice and program support staff, as well as a range of people across the SUNY campus community and in other SUNY-wide organizations to deliver PIF Program events throughout the year. Perform the full complement of event planning tasks, including securing dates and venues; designing online registration and tracking; sending confirmations; maintaining participation records; managing catering; providing sign-age; creating participant badges; processing invoices; creating and analyzing evaluations; providing certificates; researching and securing hotel accommodations; and handling logistical support. Onsite event management and travel within New York State is required. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from an accredited higher education institution in an appropriate field with three years of relevant experience, including experience working with diverse groups of people and with events for diverse audiences. Demonstrated experience in designing, planning and executing professional development events and working with communities of practice. Fluency with office productivity tools, such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Demonstrated experience using online database systems for tracking/management of program/ customer information. Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational abilities, quantitative skills, ability to meet deadlines, technical aptitude, and ability to work independently with limited direction and in a team. Accuracy in record keeping is a must. Experience leveraging web-based technologies is required. Proven ability to forge collaborative relationships, working effectively in a team environment, and interact with numerous and diverse staff and leadership at all levels of the organization. Master's Degree in an appropriate field and experience working in a higher education environment; Knowledge of the SUNY System and experience working with campus staff; Knowledge of major SUNY initiatives, and trends within the industry of higher education; experience with Event Management System (EventsAir), Survey Tools, Web Conferencing Software, and other web-based tools (such as Google Documents) preferred.
