Draper's Biotechnology Systems business empowers national security through the delivery of innovative solutions in the areas of Biodefense, Biomedical, and Novel Materials & Applications to address the most pressing challenges and hardest problems. Our mission is to harness the cutting-edge potential of biotechnology to develop advanced solutions that safeguard our nations' security and enrich people's lives on behalf of current and future generations.
The Biodefense Program Manager reports directly to the Associate Director for the Biodefense Solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the execution of programs in support of customer's missions and requirements in Biodefense.
Responsibilities
Deliver on program commitments to our customers with strong customer satisfaction across cost, schedule, technical, management, quality, and communications.
Identify and cultivate strong customer and industry relationships, while applying deep knowledge of the biodefense market to drive growth, internal investments, and business priorities.
Develop long-term business relationships and contribute to Draper's ability to win follow-on and new work with sponsor organizations (e.g., DARPA, DTRA, JPEO, BARDA, ARPA-H, IARPA, others)
Support the delivery of a 5-year Integrated Business Plan and subsequent Annual Operating Plan (funding, revenue, and operating profit) to include accurate quarterly forecasts with balanced risk and opportunities.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to lead the development of compelling proposals and presentations tailored to the specific needs of government customers.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Five or more years of progressive experience and responsibility managing programs in support of U.S. Government needs to achieve organizational objectives and customer requirements
Experience with program management and program execution tools to monitor costs, schedule, technical progress, quality, and deliverables
Experience with DoD and US Government program management, requirements generation, budgeting and contracting procedures, laws, and policies.
Excellent written and verbal communications, presentations skills, organizational and time management skills. Candidate must be able to clearly present ideas to executive leadership, peers, staff, customers, and stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, peers, direct-reports, and customers
Preferred qualifications
PMP certification or DAU certification or equivalent
Experience navigating and accessing key stakeholders across Government agencies (i.e., JPEO, DARPA, DTRA, IARPA, BARDA, ARPA-H and others) to drive business growth and impact
Advanced degree(s) in biology, biomedical engineering, or other technical fields (Data Science, Chemistry, Physics, EE, ME, CE/CS)
Active Secret security clearance or higher
Demonstrated experience leading diverse matrixed and virtual teams with a focus on inclusivity.
Location & Travel
Cambridge, MA or Reston, VA
Draper has a hybrid workforce and 1-2 days per week of work-from-home is available to this position.
Travel for this position is estimated at 25%
