Family Housing Network is seeking a Leader who are committed to serving homeless veterans and their families - extending care and support to those who have served our Country. Our Supportive Services to Veteran Families (SSVF) program provides outreach and rapid rehousing services to Veteran individuals or families experiencing homelessness.
The Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) Manager supports and mentors 10 SSVF Case Managers in Pierce, Kitsap, Mason, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Thurston, Pacific, Cowlitz, and Wahkiakum Counties; and assists in the coordination of services and the provision of temporary financial assistance to households who are homeless or at risk of homelessness for one federal VA grants (SSVF).
This position covers Pierce, Kitsap, Mason, Thurston, Lewis, Cowlitz, Wahkiakum and Grays Harbor and is officed in Tacoma.
Primary duties include:
Lead and mentor a team of Supportive Services for Veteran Case Managers in Pierce, Kitsap, Mason, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Thurston, Pacific, Cowlitz, and Wahkiakum Counties to provide coordinated wraparound services to eligible households.
Hire, train, and oversee a case management team of 10 Case Managers providing leadership and promoting a cooperative, team environment. Support, teach, and mentor SSVF case managers to ensure ongoing growth in skill level and experience working with issues impacting homeless and at-risk Veteran households.
Perform periodic review of case files, case notes, and other pertinent information for quality assurance, compliance with funding contract requirements, and training opportunities for case managers. Includes quarterly meetings bringing all regions together in preparation for annual monitoring visit;
Coordinate training of case managers in all aspects of SSVF project requirements;
Serve as a resource for case managers including problem solving techniques and ideas, available community resources, case management strategies, and dealing with problems and crises arising with program households;
Facilitate or participate in wraparound meetings and coordinate services for referred households with VA, Vet Center, Department of Labor, and other community partners to best help households to become rapidly rehoused and rent independent within the prescribed time allotment for grant.
Coordinate completion of client incident reports to CCS clinical manager (SSVF and RRH) as well as SSVF national office.
Maintain HMIS end user certifications and trainings
Plan an annual SSVF staff retreat to include training opportunities and quarterly regional meetings in preparation for annual SSVF monitoring visits.
Assure initial and on-going program eligibility; timeliness of assistance payments for rent, utilities, and other approved needs; and case management expectations
Coordinate with HMIS CCS Data Administrator to maintain a >95% data compliance for monthly repository uploads and overall HMIS data standard
Update CCS SSVF Policies and Procedures manual on a quarterly basis to include programmatic and case management changes.
Be familiar with Supportive Services for Veteran Families grant policies and procedures as well as allowable expenses, budgets and coordination of services.
Coordinate with Washington Department of Veteran's Affairs subcontractor regarding outreach and referrals to program.
Provide leadership in coordination with Data Administrator in completing and updating the Community Plan to End Veteran Homelessness.
Complete required monthly and quarterly reports for SSVF grants.
Prepare for and manage annual monitoring visit for SSVF grants as appropriate to include any responses to concerns or finding(s).
Coordinate with accounting department for compliance of grant expenditures and allowable costs to include communicating concerning needs for monitoring visit, budget changes and regional expense tracking.
Track all Temporary Financial Assistance spent on SSVF enrolled veteran households.
Approve Temporary Financial Assistance for RRH clients as well as coordinate with Operations Manager to track budget spending.
In conjunction with the RRH Program Manager, coordinate budget modifications as needed on a quarterly basis through the VA Grants management system.

Minimum Qualifications (Qualifications which applicant must possess to be considered for position.)
Bachelors degree in a Social Service plus 2 years case management or 5 years relevant case management may substitute.
Good understanding and personal experience with military culture.
Excellent people skills including the ability to handle difficult people. (Veterans preferred)
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Good driving record and valid driver's license and insurance. Ability to drive between Pierce, Kitsap, Mason, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Thurston, Pacific, Cowlitz, and Wahkiakum Counties.
Positive attitude and willingness help out where needed. Results oriented.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to accommodate flexible hours.
Preferred Qualifications (Qualifications which are desired in applicants; however applicants without these qualifications will not necessarily be excluded from consideration, if they possess minimum qualifications.)
Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field w/ 2yrs experience.
3 years' experience supervising staff.
Knowledge and experience with Wraparound facilitation and/or Motivational Interviewing approaches.
Experience & knowledge of homelessness and issues of poverty.
Good knowledge of area resources.
