What You'll Do:

  • Use analytics, machine learning and simulation to provide world class fulfillment solutions for the Chewy fulfillment network.u0026nbsp;

  • Design, build and improve process flow simulations using FlexSim software for order fulfillment infrastructure throughout the large-scale supply chain network.

  • Routinely and effectively partner with leadership to define key business metrics, build models, and use descriptive analytics to support large scale operations decisions.

  • Work with engineering and operations leadership to identify process bottlenecks and build solutions supported by data.

  • Lead the identification of trends, factors and KPI's with the objective of reducing variable fulfillment cost per unit.


What You'll Need:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience using modeling/simulation software. FlexSim experience preferred.

  • A proven track record of converting and implementing model outputs into real world solutions.

  • Minimum of 3 years of practical SQL programming query development and performance optimization experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools, e.g. Tableau, QlikView.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience designing and applying analytic and/or algorithmic solutions to operational processes.

  • Experience with statistical analysis tools (such as R), root cause analysis, process design and control.

  • Strong knowledge on warehouse management systems to improve order picking efficiency by leveraging data.

  • Familiarity with fulfillment operations, ability to operate productively with limited supervision, and demonstrated intuition to allocate time to productive efforts is critical.

  • Lead projects associated with optimization of existing fulfillment centers based on simulation results.

  • Requires strong quantitative and analytical skills; this role caters to someone that loves to solve difficult and complex problems.

  • Manage multiple simulation projects simultaneously while keeping all stakeholders up to date on findings.



  • Master's in Computer Science, Operations Research or a related field and at least 3 years work experience.

  • The ability to analyze big data sets (tables with 50M+ rows and thousands of columns are standard).

  • Practical experience designing/implementing machine learning algorithms tailored to particular business needs and tested on large datasets.

  • Experience designing simulation and optimization models for business decisions (e.g., order picking, pick travel path).

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience with heavy emphasis on operations analytics and process improvement.

  • Familiarity with statistical concepts and advanced statistical techniques (E.g. R, Minitab)- distributions, confidence intervals, time series analysis, regression models, clustering, machine learning.

  • Familiarity with mathematical modelling u0026amp; simulation techniques - probability, optimization (linear programming, etc.), graph theory, state models.

  • Experience with Supply Chain and Fulfillment Operations.
