The Program Manager - Family Advocacy will supervise the family advocates within Project Harmony's Children and Family Services Department, including the management of day-to-day tasks, regular documentation review and routine and crisis consultation on cases.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and leadership of family advocates ensuring consistent advocacy, positive team functioning and follow-through on recommendations.

• Provide professional development amongst staff members.

• Develop policies and procedures related to the operations of the advocacy services team.

• Monitor the delivery of services to ensure model fidelity and quality of care from initial contact through follow-up and case closure.

• Select, monitor and evaluate evidence-based screening and assessment tools appropriate to Project Harmony client needs.

• Ensure advocacy collaboration with forensic interviewers, medical providers, mental health therapists and agency partners (e.g., law enforcement, DHHS, etc.)

• Assist in the evaluation of mental health referral process and current database and implement procedures as needed for quality improvement.

• Support advocates in achieving expected results and promote professional development.

• Ensure culturally competent services are provided to all families we serve without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, socioeconomic status, disability, gender or sexual orientation.

• Ensure compliance with NCA Standards of Accreditation for Family Advocates.

• Monitor OMS survey results and other CQI requirements and develop areas in need of improvement.

• Provide direct advocacy, mental health referral and coordination services to clients and partners.

• Develop, monitor, and implement documentation processes in Project Harmony databases.

• Develop and present trainings as requested.

• Development, maintenance or collaboration of mental health referral services.

• Rotate 24/7 on-call responsibilities.

• Use data to determine family advocacy benchmarks, workload and case closure outcomes.

• Other duties as assigned by Director of Children's Services.

Requirements

Education and Training

• Bachelor's degree required in social work, public administration or related field. Master's preferred.

Work Experience

• Three to five (3-5) years of experience as supervisor in child welfare agency and/or mental health.

• Experience providing and/or supervising advocacy services to crime victims.

• Experience with program development and evaluation.

• Experience conducting assessments.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Experience in administration, program and fiscal management and supervision of staff.

• Expertise in the provision of advocacy services and system response to crime victims.

• Knowledge of evidence-based mental health and prevention models.

• Crisis management.

• Excellent active listening, verbal and written communication skills.

• High level of initiative and energy.

• Knowledge of the dynamics of child abuse and neglect.

• Knowledge of child welfare system and mental health community providers.

• Solid organizational and time management skills.

• Knowledge and understanding of the criminal justice system.

• Demonstrate problem solving skills and ability to resolve conflicts.

• Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office, Access and Outlook.

• Must maintain respect and maintain confidentiality.

Other

• Must be willing to work flexible hours.

• Must submit to a thorough criminal history background check.

• Must have access to a vehicle, possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.

• Position may involve some travel, primarily within the state.
