People Ops is always looking to make the experience of work better and more meaningful for Googlers. But innovating (and operating!) is increasingly complex when Googlers work in more than 50 countries, each with its own unique practices and regulations. The Diversity, Integrity & Governance team works to make sure we not only do what's required by law, but that we continue to raise the bar and do what's right for Googlers all over the globe. From supporting LGBT rights to extending parental leave benefits, we aspire to do the right thing in every part of the world: to be fair and inclusive, disciplined but not rigid, and consistent but not bureaucratic.

As a Program Manager, Employee Relations (ER), you will work in conjunction with the ER team and other partner organizations within People Operations, Legal, Ethics and Compliance and other investigation teams. You will have the opportunity to help ensure that the ER team and their partners have the right resources to most efficiently and effectively address ER issues globally. Using your knowledge of general ER/ HR practices and familiarity with employment law, you will be responsible for knowledge management within the ER team and relevant partner teams. As an experienced HR professional, you will partner with the People Operations partners to organize, shape and facilitate training opportunities for the ER team, People Consultants, People Partners and the businesses they support.

Great just isn't good enough for our People Operations team (you probably know us better as "Human Resources"). Made up of equal parts HR professionals, former consultants, and analysts, we're the advocates of Google's colorful culture. In People Ops, we "find them, grow them, and keep them". We bring the world's most innovative people to Google and provide the programs that help them thrive. Whether recruiting the next Googler, refining our core programs, developing talent, or simply looking for ways to inject some more fun into the lives of our Googlers, we bring a data-driven approach that is reinventing the human resources field.

  • 3 years of change management experience.

  • Experience in project management, operations and vendor management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to influence without authority and partner well with management teams and across People Operations.

  • Ability to establish relationships at all levels and geographies throughout the organization and cross-functionally.

  • Proven project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage global projects.

  • Facilitate internal stakeholder management/review by obtaining cross-functional, global support for the launch of new programs and initiatives, ensuring regional statutory nuances are considered. Design robust communications cascade for program launch to partner teams.

  • Manage global mediation/facilitated conversation vendor relationships, agreements and budget. Establish vendor SLA and performance goals and manage against them.

  • Identify success metrics and report out on these metrics on a regular basis. Maintain program documents and collateral.

  • Promote consistency of Googler experience by identifying, documenting and maintaining guidance on global best practices across ER and curate an internal ER site to house this content. Prepare and facilitate delivery of internal trainings for ER team, People Consultants and People Partners.

  • Assess viability of cases against program criteria and own logistics, resourcing, triage, deployment of resources, tracking and gap analysis.
