Job Description Summary

This position is primarily responsible for the management of Infusion Disposable contract activities including sales proposals, exception approvals, contract development, and development of legal language for addendums and amendments of contracts, review of documentation and detailed execution of customer contracts. Work independently with Marketing, Legal, Finance and Sales to develop and implement special programs. Work directly with Marketing, Finance and Health Systems to maintain products and pricing on GPO contracts. Provide direct support to contracts and sales management related to tracking, reporting and analysis of contract and non-contract sales and pricing. Directly support all compliance activities with sales and direct customers. Has authority to make business decisions within approved levels.

As a Senior Contracts Consultant, this position is expected to leverage both experience and devise novel strategic approaches to assist the selling organization in creating and winning deals which have the best outcome for the business. In addition, a Senior Contracts Consultant would be expected to provide guidance to other Contracts Consultants, while working with Managers to improve processes and drive efficiencies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a team of two contract consultants.

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge and expertise in the products, pricing, terms and conditions of all Disposables contracts and GPO contracts.

  • Perform detailed audits on all sales proposals prior to contract development and insure all required approvals or approval processes have been completed and all proposal details are clearly and accurately documented.

  • Develop options and alternatives for proposals with the sales representatives.

  • Understand financial drivers of specific deals and can communicate to team members how to best structure a deal to meet customer needs while strengthening profitability.

  • Support direct customer negotiations on contract terms and conditions.

  • Support, administer, and carry out policies, procedures, and processes to harmonize contract negotiation and general provisions, with appropriate flexibility to meet customer/market needs and dynamics. Ensure that risk is mitigated, and regulations are appropriately addressed consistently across all business offerings.

  • Develop legal language for contracts, addendums and amendments.

  • Interface directly with the Strategic Account Managers, National Account Managers, and Sales Management to review proposals.

  • Serve the business unit and strategic customer teams with high quality, responsive service, and negotiation competencies to drive revenue growth.

  • Coordinate activities for the resolution of under-compliant, expired, or terminated agreements.

  • Interface with numerous departments and Senior Management within the organization.

  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner with little direct supervision.

  • Identify and support process improvement projects (templates, standard terms, system updates, etc.) to drive operational efficiencies and standardization throughout the organization.

  • Facilitate mentorship and develop training materials for junior Dispensing contracting associates.

  • Help to cultivate a positive work climate that furthers collaboration, innovation, and alignment with BD Values

  • Personal courage - Strong ethical values; takes appropriate action and makes decisions maintaining responsibility for outcomes.

  • Perform any other functions required as a Contract Consultant.

To be successful in this role, you require:

  • Minimum BA/BS, or equivalent experience (3+ years) in the applicable area

  • 3+ years demonstrated experience as part of a Contracting team, strong understanding of business strategy, pricing and profitability thresholds, and strong relationships with Legal counsel, General Management, Finance, Regulatory, Compliance, Risk Management and Sales Executive Leadership

  • General understanding of US Antitrust laws, HIPAA, Sarbanes Oxley, revenue recognition guidance, Internal Audit, regulatory controls, and business strategy

  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, xlookup), Contract Lifecycle Management tools, Microsoft Suite skills and the ability to learn SAP, QlikView, PowerBI, and Salesforce.

  • Demonstrated customer relationship skills with the ability to uphold consistent expectations, negotiate and adapt to customer needs while maintaining protection of BD's interests.

  • Experience in a position with matrix accountability preferred.

  • Ability to understand contract management, including contract strategy development, negotiations with medical products and services preferred.

  • Analytical problem solver with strong ethical values and discernment with the ability to evaluate key business drivers and develop clear recommendations.

  • Proven track record in quickly establishing credibility, trust, and support.

  • Knowledge of post-signature capital contract processes, including installation, billing/revenue management and maintenance of equipment and how each of those processes are affected by pre-signature contract negotiations.

  • Ability to partner with sales and general management to develop complex contract offerings that define the business value of solutions in a clear, understandable way.

  • Ability to communicate at executive levels, internally and externally, handle complexity and make independent recommendations.

$ 104,900.00 - 173,000.00 USD Annual.
