Facebook is seeking a Program Manager, Data Center and Networking, with web and enterprise infrastructure environment experience. The projects will support the Infrastructure Engineering organization whose responsibilities include the Networking, Data Center Design, Construction, and 24x7 upkeep of the Facebook. This is a full-time position based in our Menlo Park office and will report to the Manager of the Data Center Program Managers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage cross-functional site infrastructure projects in a matrix organization covering a range of areas (data center, network, hardware systems, capacity management).

Develop and manage endto-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery.

Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation phases.

Perform risk management and change management on projects.

Provide dayto-day coordination and quality assurance for projects and tasks.

Manage dependencies and handoffs effectively and optimize schedules accordingly.

Drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions.

Interface with Engineering, Facilities, Electrical/Mechanical Engineers, and business owners for project requirements and scope.

Conduct business process re-engineering reviews to innovate on business processes and define ways to improve their efficiency and effectiveness.

Drive continual improvement of cost productivity.

Identify areas of risk and drive mitigation with subject matter experts within the organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, computer science, systems engineering, electrical engineering, business or a related field.
    5+ years of Data Center or Network deployment experience, including 3+ years as a Technical Program Manager.

Interpersonal experience, including relationship building and collaboration within cross-functional team.
3+ years of experience with Project Management strategies, planning and tools.

Track record of delivering deployments on or ahead of schedule and on budget.

Analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational experience.

Organizational and coordination experience along with multi-tasking experience to get things done.

Experienced executing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Experienced collaborating with different individuals across external organizations, within other geographies, and "roll-up the sleeves" in order to accomplish all necessary tasks.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with managing projects related to data center design, hardware design and capacity management.

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Juniper JNCIA.

Project/product management experience in building scalable, enterprise tooling initiatives, defining roadmaps and translating strategic initiatives into tactical, objective programs.

Communication skills and demonstrated attention to detail.

Independent and thorough in examination and analysis, alongside results oriented.

Interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within a diverse, cross-functional teams.

Ability to adapt and learn new skill sets.

A Technical Program Manager will have responsibility to build relationships and processes while ensuring success during planning, design, construction and handover phases of data center builds globally. A successful candidate will help develop and understand requirements from internal customers and create solutions to improve productivity and services. A candidate must have a technical as well as a project/program management background, be innovative and agile, collaborate well in a team environment, and have very strong communication skills – a visionary who challenges the status quo and believes that collaboration technologies can level-up productivity. RESPONSIBILITIES * Oversight across Corporate Network implementations in new and existing data center facilities Oversight of project management and deployment of office network technology in data center facilities Drive alignment of data center network/office technology milestones, tracking and report out of data center projects Own development and tracking of budgets, forecasts and actuals of datacenter build projects for Enterprise Engineering Find new efficiencies and process improvements in existing workflows while anticipating and mitigating potential problems Work with design, construction, and operations teams to identify and remedy process gaps and issues Analyze problems and devise solutions to roadblocks and unique challenges across dozens of cities and countries Manage highly cross-functional site infrastructure projects in a matrix organization covering a range of areas (data center, network, logistics, supply chain, compliance, legal, infrastructure software engineering) Identify operational pain points and opportunities to improve business practices and drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions Review operational issues and determine if a technology solution is required or a process correction needs to be made Conduct business process re-engineering reviews to innovate on business processes and define ways to improve their efficiency and effectiveness Elicit detailed business requirements by engaging the business to capture clear functional design artifacts using techniques like use cases, data diagrams and process flow diagrams Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation phases Perform risk management and change management on projects Provide day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for projects and tasks Work independently with minimal supervision Ability to travel globally 30% MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * B.S. in a technical discipline or equivalent experience 4+ years experience in Project or Program Management 2+ years experience in data center construction or operations Experience with Network Deployments and Circuit Provisioning PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience with campus and enterprise networks and hardware Experience with low voltage cabling in a data center or high-density campus environment Experience with wireline telecommunications services such as point-to-point, IP transit, and PRI/ERI Facebook Menlo Park CA
