About the Position:
Oncology at St. Jude is looking for a Program Manager. The Department of Oncology seeks to expand vital internal and external collaboration in order to increase our ability to offer cellular therapy and state of the art genomic tumor analytics to patients with cancer. This strategic vision requires a program manager, working closely with the Department Chair to facilitate planning and execution of goals and objectives, identify processes and resources, and track progress of across departments and divisions of St. Jude.
The Program Manager is responsible for the management and oversight of projects, both strategic and operational, and performs a high level of administrative function tracking progresses and monitoring execution of plans. The Program Manager is responsible for significant, institution-wide projects that advance the scientific goals of the department. The Program Manager is able to work within deadlines and resource constraints, and to interpret and present data sets to create reports for senior leaders. The Program Manager may conduct program related budget planning and track program budget spending.
A great candidate is knowledgeable of project management processes, tools, and methodologies and has the ability to lead improvement efforts related to strategic goals. Exceptional candidates have excellent interpersonal skills and experience in successfully developing relationships across the organization. The Program Manager has excellent verbal and written communication skills and has experience with training, presenting, and demonstrated ability to explain and discuss difficult concepts and gain group consensus.

Responsibilities
Works with leadership, faculty, and stakeholders to develop the strategy, project plans, and timelines.
Leads and coordinates project implementation efforts to ensure successful delivery of outcomes.
Responsible for researching, writing and communicating information to support the scientific and administrative needs of the department.
Organizes events to support strategic or programmatic initiatives.
Reports to department administrative leadership and provides support for executive leadership, administration team and research programs as needed.
Serves as core member of the department administrative team.
Works within deadlines and resource constraints, and to carry out complex analysis of data, working with large/complex data sets to create reports for senior leaders.
Evaluates and proposes suitable vendors based on business needs, and be able to negotiate and oversee vendor service.
Minimum Education
Minimum Experience
Three (3) years of experience and expertise in formal or informal project coordination or management.
Experience with project management methodologies preferred.
Experience leading cross-functional teams preferred.
Clinical, basic or translational science, or population science/public health backgrounds preferred; research experience is a plus.
