Introduction to HP's Personal Systems Business & Americas GTM Team

HP created HP Labs 50 years ago, and one of the first major design projects to come out of the labs was a desktop computer. HP has been in the desktop computer business since 1968, longer than anyone else. Today our core Personal Systems business spans desktops, laptops, 2-in-1s, and super-thin, super-tough notebooks. We're pushing aggressively into new growth areas, targeting the growing office and mobile worker segments with innovative products like the award-winning HP Elite and security technologies like SureStart, Sureview, etc.
In Personal Systems, our ability to execute has helped us maintain market leadership in the majority of PC segments, including all commercial segments and most geographies around the world. The Americas Personal Systems Category organization is responsible for the Go-To-Market of our Personal Systems business across the Americas (US, Canada & Latin America) region. The AMS PS Strategy & PMO team manages business strategy, planning and program management as part of this organization. This is a team of high performing individuals that lead strategic program management across the organization in close collaboration with our partners in the Personal Systems Global Business Unit, Supply Chain, Finance, etc.
In this role with the Americas Personal Systems Strategy & PMO team, you will:
Lead strategic program management across HP's Americas Personal Systems organization in close collaboration with our partners in the Personal Systems GBU, Supply Chain, Finance, etc.
Impact decision making of senior leadership on strategic investments or disinvestments across our business, organization, resources & tools
Gain in-depth understanding of our Personal Systems business, build a broad internal network across our businesses and functions, and develop your core skillset in business management, planning & program management that will help you grow into a career within HP
Work closely with and for senior professionals within the leading PC vendor in the world
Leads the development of project guidelines, contingency plans, objectives, and deliverables.
Identifies research, tools, and analyses required to achieve objectives for large, complex business strategy projects.
Structures analytical approaches and develops project strategies and tactics.
Develops recommendations for optimizing business and financial performance.
Leads large, cross- functional teams and communications to facilitate projects and ensure timely delivery to clients.
Consults with business executives on a wide range of issues related to the strategy formulation process, including risk management and new growth opportunities.
Provides thought leadership and contributes to expanding the knowledge base within area of expertise which includes developing new methods, techniques and criteria for developing strategy analysis and recommendations.
Collaborates across businesses, functions, and regions to align strategy and direction with corporate and divisional approaches, systems, information and support.
