Program Manager - Agile Coach
In this position:
The ideal candidate would have hands-on coaching experience in Agile frameworks, specifically Scrum, Kanban and SAFe. This person should have practical experience in an Agile role at either the program or team levels with demonstrated ability to adopt Agile principles, mindset, practices and methodologies.
The Agile Coach is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating Agile project teams. The goals are to achieve a high level of performance, quality, and to deliver agile projects and processes that provide exceptional business value to users.
Use coaching techniques that increase collaboration, transparency and promote a culture of experimentation, innovation and continuous improvement.
Understand and support implementation of metrics to optimize delivery of KPIs through the assessment of responsiveness, quality, productivity, and customer and business value.
Actively raise observed issues and remove impediments; resolve conflicts within and across teams. Anticipate challenges, identify risks, and recommend mitigations and solutions.
Continuously assess the Agile maturity of teams and individuals at all levels of leadership, educating and mentoring to address gaps.
Contribute to internal and external Agile communities to stay abreast of challenges, leading practices, and emerging trends; utilize learnings in furthering the effective use of Agile practices.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
5+ years of relevant Lean / Agile experience
Demonstrable expertise in influencing organizational change
Hands on experience scaling Lean/Agile practices
Certified Scrum Master or Product Owner Certification
Highly proficient in Agile practices and able to clearly coach teams and programs at varying maturity levels
Knowledge and Skills:
Profound understanding of agile methodologies such as Scrum & Kanban & Scaled Agile principles and practices
Experience in agile methods such as DevOps, Agile testing, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Agile development, XP practices and Agile architecture
Experience in creating/enhancing training materials and deliver training
Ability to share knowledge at different levels, be hands-on with the team as required
Excellent planning, conceptual, consulting skills, analytical ability, strong judgment and management skills and the ability to interact with senior business areas, IT management staff and business partners
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent problem solving and influencing skills
Skills in translating broad strategic intent into tactical plans and directions
Excellent negotiation and conflict management skills
