Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products. Plan and direct schedules and monitor budget/spending. Monitor the project from initiation through delivery. Organize the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Seven years of project management, product design or related experience preferred.

Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned software development-based security architect (technical program manager) to join our efforts in moving Oracle's corporate enterprise to the Oracle cloud. The SaaS Cloud Security organization is responsible for securing enterprise-grade software services on behalf of our 25,000 customers, including Oracle itself, processing over 60 billion transactions per day.

As an enterprise security architect, you will work with enterprise constituents across half of Oracle's lines of business to

  • Educate, advise and participate in security designs for enterprise requirements

  • Prepare for and participate in corporate security reviews

  • Perform risk assessments for security policy exceptions

  • Support security approvals in routine enterprise and development processes

You will be working across a hybrid team that understands our business and its objectives, to lead us through planning and designing technical solutions to solve the business's problems in a very agile, fast-paced, and collaborative environment. The position relies heavily on influence rather than authority to drive project deliverables.

The successful candidate must have exceptional engineering experience, problem-solving skills, strong business judgment, and notable experience collaborating in cross-functional teams. We are looking for a self-starter technical leader with a proven ability to execute both strategically and tactically, and someone who is excited to take on new projects. This position requires a solid technical security background, and the candidate should be customer-focused with a passion for the cloud and adoption of Oracle technology. You will partner closely with peers, developers and the entire Oracle security community to create secure solutions to Oracle's internal business requirements while simultaneously evolving existing capabilities. This position requires deep technical knowledge and hands on program leadership in managing innovative development and security implementation and across the Oracle corporate enterprise.

With your deep architectural and security experience, you will shape not only the future of cloud adoption at Oracle but influence the adoption of Oracle technology globally through delivery of referenceable, leading edge, secure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will work with teams across many of Oracle's lines of business (including but not limited to Product Development, Enterprise and Development Operations, HR, Legal, and Finance) to deliver secure solutions for Oracle's business requirements, including

o Consulting on secure design

o Providing expertise concerning approved secure solutions, applicable standards and similar

o Reviewing designs for compliance with corporate and line of business security policy and standards

o Advocating for teams during corporate security review processes

  • You will work within the SaaS Cloud Security organization and with broader Oracle security communities, including security architects in product development, corporate security architecture and compliance teams, to share knowledge, contribute to Oracle security standards and disseminate information to encourage good security design and practices

  • You will work with teams across many of Oracle's lines of business concerning requests for exceptions to security policy

o Steering those teams into compliant solutions where possible

o When exceptions are absolutely unavoidable, assessing the risk of the requests for exception and advocating for those teams with Oracle's corporate compliance organizations

o Managing the exceptions back into compliance

  • You will provide security review and approval in several corporate processes including procurement, provisioning and deployment

  • You will partner closely with your peers in both SaaS and OCI engineering and operations to drive the right architecture, designs and deployment optimization to ensure SaaS applications and services are secure by default and using the latest cloud security innovation, protocols and components.

Ideal Experience

  • Product and/or cloud service software development experience over multiple release cycles or lifecycles.

  • Deep technical understanding of security architecture, engineering, deployment, and operation best practices.

  • Consulting and/or enterprise architecture background, able to quickly digest complex issues and provide meaningful guidance

  • Strong knowledge of modern vulnerability threats including intelligence, discovery, mitigation, remediation and root cause

  • Understanding of security threat types and vulnerabilities including malicious insiders, advanced persistent threats, RCE, DDoS, XSS, SQL Injection, CSRF.

  • Ability to work independently, defining and managing one's own work while still providing transparency and accountability to management and other interested parties

  • Ability to work across and engage individuals and teams located across multiple geographies and or cultures.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and Development/Engineering individuals at all levels including the executive level.

  • Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building.

  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence.
