A Program Manager 2 is part of a key team of Technology professionals managing technical programs that deliver significant business value to Nordstrom and its customers. The Program Manager 2 partners with internal stakeholders to develop, design, build and launch technology solutions. This position interacts with people in both business and technical roles to create specifications and resolve issues with an eye toward continuous improvement. This position works across department and functional lines on a variety of programs that range in scope, risk and complexity.

We are building out systems which manages a key component of Nordstrom's Supply Chain ecosystem which will be innovative and exciting. Come be part of a hand-picked team to build and integrate systems with internal and external teams to complete end to end solutions. Our team focuses on automation systems and services that support our Supply Chain operations. Work side by side with Product Managers, SDEs and external partners and be part of a team that is fun and strong.

The right candidate will enjoy finding solutions to hard problems, possess a strong tech and program management background, will have demonstrated experience leading small to medium projects. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. As a Program Manager, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent and leadership are essential to success in this role.

A day in the life

  • Combines full understanding of concepts, theories and principles with business insights and manages moderately complex programs

  • Knows who customers are and communicates technical requirements to dependent teams. Defines data requirements in both technical and business terms that inform the success of programs

  • Uses customer lens to create data measurements to quantify measures for success and recognizes gaps in technical and operational KPI's

  • Possesses base level knowledge of technology (e.g. Cloud, APIs, services, Windows stack, open source, database technologies, etc.)

  • Possesses broad understanding of end to end capability and applies engineering lifecycle knowledge to feature design, task estimation, design review, story creation, triage, schedule and performance standards

  • Reads basic code constructs, understands and identifies estimates of effort to complete engineering work streams

You own this if you have

  • 4-year degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of Project Management experience

  • Detailed understanding of SDLC methodologies

  • Agile, lean and Kanban delivery experience

  • Managing cloud technology based and/or Supply Chain projects are a bonus

  • Experience with Atlassian software suite (Confluence, Jira)

This PM will engage cross-functionally with central teams, supply chain managers, vendor managers, finance, other retail product families, and vendors.
