Job Functions / Responsibilities
Provide leadership in the use of project management tools and Division PMO processes and procedures, empower decision-making, convey urgency and drive project activities, act as a contributor to the PMO, establish vision and expectations for projects and programs.
Establish the plan for the coordination of intra- and inter-division program activities to deliver assigned program(s) per the project or program budget, schedule, quality and performance (CTQP) goals to maximize results.
Communicates project or program vision, and collaboratively engages with team to motivate them for success.
Maintain assigned programs in appropriate Tollgate phase
Assigns, or delegates, responsibilities for schedule, resource, goal and performance. Empowers team members to achieve project goals.
Champions the use of the Design for Six Sigma tools and processes in order to facilitate design making, assess risks, and insure quality results.
Build trust with project team and other stakeholders through respect and trust. Lead via accountability and commitment.
Understands the power of change, and seeks new or modified processes and approaches to stimulate improvement.
Lead department-wide continuous improvement activities
Provides supervision to other project or program managers
Travel up to 15%
Skills / Competencies
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
PMP or PgMP Certification Preferred. If candidate does not currently have a certification, they must be willing to earn one within 12 months of satisfying the experience requirements for the certification.
Technical aptitude and ability to succinctly communicate complicated topics.
Min. 5 to 10 yrs. experience with increasing responsibility in project development with demonstrated leadership success.
Effectively manage multiple tasks, take initiative, strong team player and problem-solver.
Professional and effective communication skills with working team members through PACCAR executive leadership.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Previous experience managing projects to a stage gate process required, Kenworth / Peterbilt Tollgate process preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Office Suite preferred.
Project management experience strongly preferred.
Able to act as the primary PACCAR representative with external entities.
Experience working with the production teams desired.
Participate in negotiations with external entities such as other PACCAR divisions and suppliers.
