The incumbent of this position manages Area Office Operations and manages the program through seven Division Directors which include Information Technology, Financial Management, National Supply Service Center, Business Office, Property, Purchased Referred Care and Acquisition Management. As a member of the Area Governing Board, participates in the development of Area policy and programs and shares in the Area decision making process. Reports to the Area Director.

Provides technical and administrative guidance to subordinates in the operation of each division function
Monitor and evaluate work activity to assure priority functions are accomplished in a quality and timely manner
Provides advice and support to the Area Director, Area Governing Board and executive staff on administrative and management regulations, policies, and procedures
Coordinates financial and contractual activities with the tribal self-determination staff in monitoring and implementing provisions of PL 93-638 Indian Self-Determination Act
Analyzes and monitors administrative resource utilization and develops both short and long range plans for the allocation of these resources
Occasional travel - You will be expected to travel for this position.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-15: Examples include: assuming responsibility and authority for the administrative direction, supervision, evaluation, and coordination of the functions and activities of assigned departments at the Facility, Area, or Headquarters level within the organization to ensure operation objectives and results are in accord with overall organizational needs.
Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
