As a PMO Specialist, you will provide program/project management office services to department of multiple agile product teams responsible for delivering enterprise digital marketing technology, corporate intranet and websites, and CRM solutions to internal Vanguard businesses and crew.


Core Responsibilities

  • Manages a project or workstreams within a broader project or program. Develops, implements, and monitors release plans. Contributes expertise to major agile product deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.

  • Provides insight on best practices and common obstacles based on prior experiences with agile program offices. Ensures strategies are aligned with the overall department strategy.

  • Communicates program and product team status and issues regularly to stakeholders, including leaders, team members, and senior managers.

  • Builds and maintains effective relationships. Proactively fosters communication between internal and external project stakeholders. Influences key decisions across stakeholder groups.

  • Proactively identifies, manages, and mitigates risks and any related project issues. Communicates solutions on key issues or projects to management and stakeholders to obtain their input and buy-in as appropriate.

  • Provides analysis, reporting and forecasts for product team and departmental level budgets.

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.


  • Minimum of three years related work experience within an agile program office. Two years of managing projects preferred. Financial Services or function-specific experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated understanding of agile methodologies and the concept of product vs project teams.

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.

  • Strong skills and experience with financial analysis and XCEL.

Additional Requirements

  • Responsible for department financial reporting, analysis and forecasting within the PMO function at the department level. Significant interaction and collaboration with partner PMO offices within Vanguard.

  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement a department wide Agile PMO Service Model leveraging the principles of lean and agile across the product teams and leadership team.

  • Experience with vendor management, contracts, and financials.
