The Opportunity:

The Program and Engagement Coordinator is a core member of the Center for Innovation and Leadership (CIL) professional staff team. The Program and Engagement Coordinator has administrative oversight of the program and office logistics as well as center communication and engagement. They are responsible for coordinating program schedules and working closely with CIL staff to identify and define program requirements, timelines, and objectives. They will also work on communication and engagement efforts to raise the CIL's visibility and recognition of its mission, offerings and accomplishments and track engagement across campus constituents. This includes creating and managing content across multiple internal and social media platforms, website maintenance, newsletters, flyers, and email. They may supervise student interns to support them in these tasks. This role will collaborate with colleagues within the department and across the institution, as well as with students and alumni in carrying out communications plans and center initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities

Program and Center Coordination

  • Responsible for organizing and executing logistics for events, which may include but is not limited to: reserving space, managing catering, budgeting awareness, entertainment, hosting guests, assessment support, and promotional materials.

  • Oversee all office spaces, materials, and supplies to ensure a welcoming and organized space.

  • Coordinate facilities, work orders, and maintenance requests as needed.

  • Manage the CIL master calendar, which includes semester events and regular meetings.

  • Maintain data tracking systems for students, alumni, faculty, staff, and program engagement for reporting and assessment purposes.

Engagement and Communication

  • Create and manage content across multiple platforms, including social media and the web, to elevate the visibility of the CIL.

  • Manage the general CIL email account in collaboration with other CIL staff.

  • Establish and update communications-related templates (e.g., slide decks, annual reports, email headers, flyers, and social media posts) in line with office and institutional branding guidelines.

  • Create professional and visually appealing marketing and communications materials, including office reports and infographics.

  • Collaborate with colleagues within the department and across the College, as well as students, alumni, and employers, in carrying out communications plans and promotional materials for events, programs, and opportunities.

  • Execute monthly newsletter in collaboration with other CIL staff.

  • Supervise up to two student interns to support communication and engagement efforts.

Financial Administration

  • Responsible for reconciling and processing all bills, invoices, and receipts for the CIL in a timely manner through the internal expense management system.

  • Process all reimbursements for students and staff in a timely manner.

  • Oversee the financial processing for summer funding resources and the design and development conference fund.

  • Maintain records of all internal funding streams.

College Service & Relationship Building

  • Build strong relationships on campus on behalf of the CIL.

  • Participate in campus committees and working groups on behalf of the CIL.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • 1-2 part-time student interns.

What you bring:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years experience in education, communication, social media, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong graphic design and communication skills through design tools such as Canva or Adobe Suite to present information in a visually appealing and easy to understand format.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite.

  • Experience with Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and/or website management.

Preferred

  • Experience in innovation, leadership, entrepreneurship, or higher education programming or communications.
