Position description

The Program Director must assure achievement of the program's goals and outcomes, and is responsible for all aspects of the program, including the organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development and general effectiveness of the program. The Program Director must provide supervision, administration and coordination of the instructional staff in the academic and clinical phases of the educational program.

The Program Director is experienced in the CVIS field and is expected to maintain expertise in the job function as well as perform Cardiac Invasive Lab Tech responsibilities a portion of their FTE.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field i.e. Nursing, Business, etc.

Requires a minimum of five consecutive years of advanced to expert-level professional experience in an acute-care facility with an emphasis in multi-disciplinary adult diagnostic and/or interventional cardiology services.

Achieve academic appointment at no less than the instructor level within 3-5 years.

Bronze Quality certification is required within 1 year of hire.

Additional qualifications

Master's Degree Preferred

Prior leadership/supervisory experience preferred or must demonstrate leadership/supervisory potential

Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work as a team member with physicians, administrators and other health professionals within and outside the person's primary field.

Must be self-motivated, organized, efficient and able to meet deadlines. Must demonstrate independent problem-solving skills. Evidence of successful teaching experience.

Experience with basic computer skills and electronic education tools required. Experience or training in quality improvement processes and techniques

License or certification

Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) / Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) certification required. If Rad Tech, must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (RRT). BLS and ACLS required

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2569.60, based on a full-time position.
