Wolverines elevated is a 3-year fully inclusive college program for students with ID/D. We are seeking a dynamic leader, dedicated to post-secondary education opportunities for all, to guide the continued development of this program and help our students succeed.

Under the direction of the PI, the Wolverines Elevated Program Director will direct all aspects of the Wolverines Elevated program, including supporting students and faculty, developing ad implementing program curriculum, and training and supervising program staff including peer mentors.

  • Coordinates all program services for students with intellectual disabilities, including person centered planning, student goal development, specialized classes and workshops, career development activities, and inclusion in campus life.

  • Works with the project team and staff to develop program components, content, and contribute to program evaluation.

  • Hires and supervises project staff. Hires, trains, and supervises Peer Mentors and Allies. Assists the PI in the development of job descriptions, performance standards and evaluation.

  • Coordinates with campus-based services to meet individual student needs and coordinate with faculty to support UDL's and student success in credit-bearing classes.

  • Collaborates with the PI on budget management. Coordinates with UHEIA partners. Participates in grant-related meetings with the TPSID Coordinating Center and assists in grant reporting activities. Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Graduation from an accredited institution with a master's degree in Special Education, Vocational Rehabilitation or related field and two years of experience directly related to the Summary of Duties.

Preferred Qualifications   

Five years experience supporting transition-aged students with ID.

  • Knowledge and experience in the implementation of person-centered planning. Experience in curriculum development.

  • At least 5 years of direct personnel management experience.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational and management skills including strategic planning and prioritization, and personnel/HR laws and policies.

  • Records management skills, including FERPA and HIPAA compliant systems and state reporting systems.

  • Skills in program planning, development and implementation.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong public presentation skills.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.

  • Ability to present effectively to small groups and perform services as a university representative, and proven track record of successful training/teaching experience.

  • Strong demonstrated ability to supervise employees and comply with University, state and federal hiring policies/processes.

  • Ability to provide guidance and leadership to program personnel/faculty.

  • Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports.

  • Ability to foster a cooperative positive work environment.

  • Ability to plan and implement short and long-range goals.

  • Ability to develop effective work teams with the skills and abilities necessary to accomplish program goals.
