We are seeking a Program Director, Provider Resources Management to:

  • Lead the system design, implementation, and maintenance of a new enterprise-wide provider resource management system.

  • Facilitate development of operational program-level standards, design workflows and processes to populate, optimize, and maintain provider schedules, and oversee creation of technical configuration to support efficient enterprise-wide provider resource management.

  • Provide status updates to management on means to achieve access goals and resolve patient service issues.

Education:

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

Preferred

  • Master's Degree in Health Care or Business Administration.

Work Experience:

Minimum

  • Four years working in a professional setting, including healthcare, consulting, or information services. Experience managing project-oriented teams and work groups.

Preferred

  • One year working with a provider resource management and scheduling software (e.g. QGenda, Lightning Bolt, OpenTempo, ClairVia). Experience working at an academic medical center. Experience with MS Project.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Exemplary oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and meeting facilitation skills.

  • Strong negotiation and delegation skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.

  • Ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.

Work Schedule:

Monday

  • Friday between the hours of 6:00 am and 6:00 pm. Hours will need to be flexible due to operational needs.

VIEW JOBS 1/13/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-04-13T00:00 Reporting to the Assistant Vice Provost in the Division of Diversity,Equity and Educational Achievement, the Director of the McNair Scholars Program is responsible for overall management, strategic program planning, staff supervision, budget management, grant preparation, and federal reporting requirements of the UW-Madison McNair Scholars Program. The McNair Scholars Program is funded by the U.S. Department of Education as part of its TRIO portfolio, and seeks to increase the number of first-generation students from low income families and underrepresented minority students who pursue and earn PhD degrees. Accomplishing this requires maintaining a student case load and quality faculty relationships. UW-Madison is currently funded by the Department of Education to annually support 28 McNair Scholars, with campus funding to support another 3-6 students. This position is a grant funded position. The Director of the McNair Scholars Program will design, implement, supervise, and monitor program activities and outcomes in accordance with federal regulations and program objectives, including serving as fiscal manager for program budgets, including budget planning and expenditures, and budget revisions in consultation with the Assistant Vice Provost. Other duties include: supervising a graduate assistant and other short-term staff; program evaluation; assisting scholars preparing for graduate school; maintaining student records and assessing student need; recruiting and interviewing eligible students; serving as an advocate and liaison for scholars; providing academic and financial counseling to scholars; delivery and facilitation of trainings, workshops, and group meetings; and traveling with scholars to local, state, and national conferences. In this position, the Director is expected to promote respect and the practice of civility in the workplace as well as promote diversity of gender, ethnicity, race, ability, religion, sexual orientation, age, culture, position, job function, and years of service as crucial components in the pursuit of excellence.
